Chapter 13 - The Night before Departure (III)

The maids started shivering to see Alton standing there because even if the people around him did not respect him, they could not say anything to him as he was the Young Master of the Teren Family.

Teren looked at them and asked angrily, "What are you two doing in the room?"

The first maid replied, "Young Master we were ask by the butler to clean the room and attend to the person who will be staying in this room."

Alton looked at them and asked, "So do you know that who is going to be staying here?"

The second maid replied, "We were said that Maria was going to stay in this room."

Alton raised an eyebrow and asked, "Can you tell me the exact words which were said by the butler?"

Both maids stayed silent when Alton looked at Maria, and she still had her head down like she was ashamed of something she had done.

Alton moved his sight of vision again towards the Maids and, this time with a bit of anger, said, "Tell me what the butler exactly said, or you both don't think of me as your master any more."

The first maid then reluctantly answered, "The bulter told us that Maria will be living in this room from now on so we need to go and attend to her needs."

Alton looked at the maid and asked, "What did he call her Maria or Young Miss Maria."

Maria and the maids looked at Alton with a questioning look because it looked like he was trying to somehow find a fault in the butler; the maids understood this.

So the second maid thought this might save their life, so she replied: "Young Master, he called the Young Miss Maria by her name, and he also had a bad look on his face."

Alton smiled and looked at the maids and thought, 'These two are quite smart' Alton looked at the maids and said, "Call the butler and the rest of the staff in the main lobby; I will talk with them."

The maids bowed in respect and then immediately left the room to inform the staff, and they thanked Alton in their minds for forgiving them.

Alton looked towards Maria, who had a questioning look on her face. "No need to take tension. I will be using this situation to tell everyone about you, but I will be honest because I will be using you simultaneously; if you don't like it, I will stop."

Maria moved her face in denial. "Alton, you are my little brother, and I don't know why and what you are going to do, but I know that you have a reason, and I don't mind you using me because if the family doesn't help each other, who will help then."

Alton smiled and then hugged Maria. "I knew you were going to say this. Thank you very much, Sister."

Maria was happy hearing Alton calling her sister. After a couple of minutes, they separated, and Alton looked at Maria from top to bottom and then said, "Sister, go and change; mother must have prepared an extra piece of clothes for you; they may be her old clothes, but at least they will be better than these maids clothes."

Maria nodded and then went to the bathroom to change while Alton was standing in the room and after five minutes she came out, and Alton looked at her, and she had changed now she was wearing A green colored one-piece dress which showed that she was beautiful rather than the maid uniform.

Alton extended his hands like a gentleman. "Sister, let's go; I can assure you that you will be enjoying this show." Maria chuckled but took his hand, and they both started walking towards the main lobby.

Alton thought while walking, 'Let's take a bit of revenge on the butler as he was a person not loyal to my father; he was corrupt and used to do bad things because his father trusted him, and the servants can not go against him because he had the power to fire them. I was only able to know about this when I became the Count and thoroughly examined Mansion affairs. I will not fire him or anything. I will embarrass him tonight.

Alton then looked at Maria, and she noticed this. "What is it, Alton why are you looking at me like that." Alton replied, "How is the butler? Is he loyal to Teren family."

Maria's face became serious when she said, "Why do you ask..." before she could complete her sentence, Alton said, "I know what he has been doing, so no need to save him, Sister, and now you are not under him anymore so you don't need to be scared of him."

Maria was shocked to hear this because Alton had been looking mature for the past few days, so she bit her lips and nodded without replying.

Alton looked at this and smiled. "Good Now, let's enjoy the show, shall we."

As Alton finished saying this, he and Maria had reached the staircase, and looking down the stairs, they could see all the servants of the mansion there, including those two maids and the butler in the main lobby, and asked about the reason for them being here.

---------------------------------------------

Aria and Aldwin could hear noises from outside when they both were working on the ceremony in the study. As Aldwin and Aria listened to the commotion, they walked out of their studies. Aria and Aldwin's study were next to each other, and their room was on the right of both studies.

As they both exited the room, they saw one another, and Aria asked, "What is this commotion about?" Aldwin had a questioning expression and replied, "I don't know."

Aria and Aldwin started walking towards the voices and noticed they were coming from the main lobby; as they were about to reach the stairs, Aria and Aldwin both stopped when they saw Alton and Maria standing near them.

Aldwin was about to move forward to ask the reason behind the commotion, but Aria stopped him, and she put her index finger on her lips, meaning to stay silent and watch them.
