Chereads / Pericolosa / Chapter 35 - 35

Chapter 35 - 35

"Mr Dulgado, one very happy wife and the father of two amazing daughters. Do I need to say more? Do I need to mention the little puppy that you adopted not too long ago?" Mia stood right in front of the man who had confessed that he was the one who found that letter this morning.

Samantha's hands were cold and Tony was looking for a distraction so that he could focus less on Mia.

Everyone present in the room hated to see the anger posed by the leader.

Back in Italy whenever something went wrong with the Mafia business, people dreaded facing the leader. She was a monster and she was mad.

No one wanted to be in front of a monster. But right now, they all were.

Was there something that could be done to avoid the rage that Mia was about to show?

"Your Highness." The man in question said and almost kneeled in front of Mia which made her feel powerful.

It was nice to see that people feared her. Pericolosa was aware of the effect that she had over the people. She loved when people were miserable in front of her.

She did know what made her feel that way. Maybe she was born a monster. Maybe something made her a monster but she couldn't recall what it was.

"What was your elder daughter's name again?" Mia used her shoe to jerk the man's face upwards.

This was a disgusting sight.

Leo looked as if he had already seen enough, which was true. Everyone in this room had already seen the same scenario maybe a couple of times before.

This was not a new thing.

The man had tears in his eyes and he looked up as if he was begging for the same to be over.

With his pupils dilated, it seemed like he was seeing darkness in daylight. This was darkness in its full form.

"Your Highness…" he could only beg for mercy and forgiveness because what else would he ask for from a devil?

"Where were you when somebody apparently sneaked into the complex and slipped in that letter?" The point of Mia's shoes digs deep into the man's chin.

This was humiliation. Everybody was aware.

"I swear that I found a letter outside the apartment in which I am staying and there was no one in sight." The man's voice kept on trembling like he was hanging by a thread desperate to cut it himself.

"The security cameras were glitched and you were the only one that found the letter." Mia pushed the man behind and he landed on his back. She then proceeded to step further on his chest with her heels directly stabbing right into the position where his heart would be.

The heavy breathing of the man was the most heart-wrenching thing that Samantha had heard ever since she had moved to New York.

She began to wonder the real reason why she decided to move to a completely new country. She decided to build a new life because the previous life was too much for her.

The screams that were heard when somebody killed somebody else and when somebody tortured somebody else made her weak and fragile.

She need not know who was the prey and who was the hunter because the screams were heard from both sides.

"Do you think I am a joke to you?" Pericolosa roared. Her voice echoed in the room and made everyone tremble in fear if they were not already.

Mia was actually having a tough time. She applied a little more pressure on the pointer part of her heel to at least leave a mark on the chest of the man now lying on his back on the floor. She had noticed how cold her hands were right now.

She began thinking what led up to this point? Why was she feeling agitated and annoyed?

Was it the letter or the content which was written in the letter or was it the way that Carys had made her feel earlier this day or was it the pressure that was now making her ankle hurt?

It was all of it and at the same time, it was none of it. She was lost and she was sad.

"Your…Highness." The man was now beginning to cough. His voice was barely making it out of his throat.

"You would make a good corpse." Pericolosa was the one speaking now.

Tony had noticed that Mia had not been in sight ever since she walked out of that room dressed in leather pants and a dull lifeless outfit.

"Pericolosa." Leo immediately sprinted towards the leader and tried to intervene.

"You will kill him and I don't think we can afford killing people inside this apartment right now." He whispered towards the leader.

It was his duty to clean up the murders but right now he knew that it was too high of a risk to kill someone inside the apartment. After getting that letter, it was better that they stay lowkey for the time being.

"Somebody is out there sending letters to me saying that they will be the one killing my target and you expect me to take that bullshit?" Pericolosa retreated her foot after giving another kick to the man.

She turned to Leo, "I need the culprit!"

There was anger in her voice which was quite evident but there was something else. It was too hard for Leo to decide what the leader was thinking.

"Your Highness, I am sorry but I swear on my daughter's life I am telling the truth." The man said after a couple of rounds of coughing.

He joined both of his hands and then continued to prostrate before the leader.

"Do you think that your daughter's life has value?" Mia was never known for her kindness. She was known for her brutality and right now she was showing the people why she was so famous.

"Do you think that swearing on your daughter's life can make this all disappear? This is a threat that was made to me and I hate when people underestimate me. You are telling me that there is someone out there thinking that they can outdo me and I don't even know who that is?" Pericolosa spoke with a lot of pride. She was someone who carried her status on her head.

She was someone who was proud of killing. Proud of bringing pain to the people who deserve it.

"I do not care who you swore to." She said and then held out her gun right towards the man's chest.

"Pericolosa," Samantha whispered lightly into the air because she was afraid to say it out loud.

She wanted to help her best friend because she knew that the one thing that Mia needed the most right now was help.

You could see in her eyes that she was having a tough time. With the crumpled paper that was thrown into the floor earlier, it was clear that Mia was struggling and she did not want anyone to know that.

There was silence for a long time after Mia held out the gun.

After earlier praying for a distraction, Samantha was not praying for anything. She was just hoping that Mia did not pull the trigger to kill the person in front of her.

He was innocent and Samantha could see it in his eyes but she wasn't sure. Mia had always told her that she was bad at picking up the right person.

'You are too pure for the world.' Mia had once said to Samantha and she had just laughed it off. Mia was right, she thought to herself.

For the people who were witnessing the dreadful scene in front of them, it would have seemed like time had stopped.

Pericolosa gave out a sigh.

"Consider me a God and worship me because I have spared your life for the first and the last time." For the man who had considered the leader a devil since the time she had stepped out of that room, it was a complete flip of his faith.

She was a God who had forgiven him.

"And do not think that I did it because you swore on your daughter's life." Pericolosa pushed down the gun in her hand into her pocket.

The room echoed with the words that had been spoken. Everyone in the room had heard the atrocious justification. Even the muddy walls of the living room felt like they were mourning after hearing the words that had been spoken.

"I did it because it will be messy if I kill you here and it will create more problems than I already have right now." She announced.

Maybe she is a devil, the man thought to himself. A God would never give such a wicked justification for sparing a man's life.

The next sounds that were heard were of Mia's heels as she retreated back into her room like it was a cave.
