Inside a Bus, Keiran Smith Walkers sat near the window and peek outside in the sullen mountain, the foothill was surrounded by lights of the house of the people of the Grindelwald Village. It was a nice sight and relaxing scenery during the day he had no chance to see it that evening but the thought of the morning kiss of the mountain and village excite him and he promised himself that he would wake up early in the morning to feel how amazing it is in the Grindelwald. Based on the picture that his Uncle Fergus had sent him Grindelwald is indeed a beautiful town.
He has never been there. It was his first time. But when he was sixteen he wanted to go there, but no matter how hard he tried, his parents still forbade him, especially his Mom. She always said and mentioned dangerous things that he didn't understand at a young age. How the perfect Grindelwald is too dangerous? it's peaceful and with a fantasia beauty that is like the town of a goddess. He knew that his mom told her is a fairytale. He could love the place instantly, the people with him on the bus look amazing and hospitable people. He smiled slightly.
He leaned himself in the glass window of the bus and peeked outside, the droplets of rain that seeped and slide through the glass window sparked in the reflection of the light of houses. He did not move and remained to stare outside. It's not that he counts the houses they pass by or observed each house, even he doesn't know why he can't take his eyes off the outside, he wasn't feeling dizzy and even the fast running of the bus that snaked in the long road wasn't causing him nauseous. He still looks outside, and motion pictures of houses, trees, grass, and everything waving in his sight.
Earlier when he got to the Bus Station to Grindelwald he texted his Uncle Fergus. He didn't send the message right away when he was still home because he came up with the thought that his Uncle possibly stopped Keiran from moving with him. He didn't understand why everyone forbade him to move to Grindelwald and live in his Uncle's house. He tried to answer the question, in freaking many times and he couldn't get an answer, coming in and out of what his Mom said was it's dangerous in Grindelwald. Or they're just scared that Keiran might be lost in the woods since he's spoiled and loves making pranks in life. He's a brat.
As a city guy, Keiran used to hang out every night in the Pub and drink liquor. Dancing in the pub, and paying for ladies in the bar just for pleasure. He did a lot of stupid things. His parents always told him about the right path and good life, but he's feeling good being with his friends tossing glasses full of headier or intoxicating liquor. Teasing and bullying innocent girls. Involving in fights and causing headaches for his Mom.
He was happy seeing others suffering in his hands. Keiran Smith Walkers is a wealthy son and all his wishes were immediately granted by his parents, his parents are both successful, his Dad a businessman, and his Mom a Doctor. Indeed Keiran is so lucky in life.
He abused the opportunity of being in the upper class of society. He is not thinking about his tomorrow or he just doesn't give a damn. Why the hell does a brat wealthy guy give a damn for what tomorrow's bring. Either bad or not he just raised his middle finger and fuck life.
All the bullshit he does for Keiran that's just normal for a college student like him. He thinks if he doesn't do that he will miss it when he's old. He doesn't care how much he spent, he doesn't care for his future. He wants temporary happiness, such as hanging out with friends, getting drunk, and going to the bar. He's plain stupid, carefree, and spirit free.
He took a deep breath. Something else was tempting his mind. Perhaps that thing was one of the reasons why his whole being wanted to live in Grindelwald for a while. He never chose to, but because he want a new event in life he forced himself, he wanted an event that possibly eliminated his fears and doubt.
He runs from his fears and doubt. He run away from self-realization that he couldn't understand and accept easily as others could. He could feel the pain in his chest. The wounds that are painful and he felt that every second there was a drip of alcohol in it. It was months ago when he woke up feeling weird and odd. He actually felt that way when he was seventeen years old. He does not understand himself. He didn't know why his heart was beating with his fellow man. Terribly and it clutches his heart.
He's not gay or bisexual. He kept telling himself that he was straight. But why does he feel that he's slowly falling in love with Connor or is it just an attraction? And, why the hell he's attracted to that damn guy? What reason could he accept? That pissed him off especially when he thought that he was bewitched. Jerk!
He thought that it wouldn't ever happen again when he turned eighteen. He couldn't believe that he had feelings for Connor his childhood best friend. He couldn't accept it, especially at night when he suddenly woke up and looked for Connor and talked to his picture and kissed it. Hell, how does it comes? He was confused. He asked himself; Why for thousand times. He was straight and he proved it because of his female partners that he has fun with.
What's with Connor that makes him turn on every time he saw the latter naked body. With some confrontation of himself. Keiran against himself and self confusion he found himself punching mirrors in the bathroom and wall makes his fingers bruised and wounded.
He's straight. He's not gay or bisexual. He wants girls not shit Connor.
He lost his desire for food because of confusion which led him to anxiety or insomnia. And it becomes worst, he doesn't want to go out anymore or see any friends. He locked himself in the mirror with the thought he was in love with Connor for no reason. He feels like life fucked him up the way he messed with it, is it karma?
He asked himself why and how. Why the hell is it happening? And, how the hell he could accept himself or change it is the better thing to do. He was sick at the thought of the matter. He thinks of Connor, they grow together, they played together, and Connor is with him in all the antics in life. To fall in love with him is a kind of betrayal and he knew that Connor couldn't tolerate that damn thing. Bisexual thing. He has full hopes that it was just in his mind.
It was not easy for him to accept that the day he confirmed that he was indeed falling in love with Connor. But he needs to accept it because the more he pretends, the more he hides it, and the more confused and hurt he becomes. He chose to confess it in front of Connor himself. The latter was shocked to death. But Keiran was serious, he thought Connor understood him but he was mistaken when Connor said 'Just go away and I don't want to see you anymore, you're free to fantasize me but never see me again' He was badly hurt. He feels like a dog waiting for crumbs of sympathy but none are left.
Words from Connor forced him to leave the city. And that was one of the reasons why he boarded the bus to his Uncle's town. He was loaded with pain and confusion.
He runs from the city and the sad story he left there but it's installed in his overburdened brain. He runs from his yesterday. He doesn't want to turn back again or else he will embrace by shame and pain. His yesterday echoed and Keiran chose to tap his ears and silently cried. He was losing trust and confidence in himself. Why is he the one who betrays him? He was shaken and swallowed repeatedly, he felt a thorn in his throat and chest.
He hadn't taken his eyes off outside the bus, along with a few drops of rain his eyes were also dripping beads of tears. He couldn't imagine a shit thing that saps his confidence and strength.
He wants to live in Grindelwald temporarily and find himself playing in the foliage of a pine tree, in a crystal river, or snowflake. He wants to fix himself. Ran away from the city life and chose to live a simple and peaceful. Who knows if nature might understand him. Nature isn't judgemental and it's full of sympathy with all its serene and beautiful landscapes.
He hopes he'll be okay one day and become smooth again as if he's gliding on ice. But he promises himself that he will never make a fool of himself again and he will also forget Connor and their friendship.
He lightly wipes his wet cheek with the back of his palm. The bus snaked into the road that was already at the foot of the hill and there were big trees. His eyes open wide, he was amazed to see a wolf. It was big.
Werewolf? He asked and whispered to himself. Possibly because I already heard from Mom about wolves.
When he looked out of the bus again he could see nothing yet all of them inside the bus heard the howl of a wolf. He is not afraid, and why is he afraid? He wasn't scared of anything either man or a ghost. But when he felt the odd cold engulf him from his feet to his head he felt a little fear in his chest. When Keiran looked back outside he could see in the distance the white wolf looking at him as well. He was amazed and wanted to see it but because of the speed of the bus, it disappeared from his sight.
He was so sure that it was a wolf. So, he concluded that a werewolf is true. But why is it hard for him to believe it?
After a few minutes had passed the bus stopped and he got off the bus. He did not budge even when the bus left. He was still thinking about what he was seeing, was he wondering if it was real, or was he just hallucinated.
His next problem is how to locate the location of his Uncle Fergus. His cellphone died a few hours ago, it was late at night and how could he find his Uncle's house now. He felt strange or as if there were eyes staring at him but he kept bracing himself. He took a deep breath and turned to meet a man. An old man.
"How's the travel?" That's the first question that the old man asked him. Keiran doesn't recognize the old man because his face isn't clear because of the night and a light mist. But later he introduced himself as Uncle Fergus Keiran runs to him and embraced his Uncle. "You're grown-up man Keiran," Fergus added in a surprised tone.
"Finally, I'm here in your place."
"Well, I know you're tired Keiran, C'mon," he said and lead the way Keiran followed the old man. Keiran was shocked when he suddenly stopped. Fergus's hands were on his waist stood there like a señorito and Keiran asked him why.
"Did you hear what I heard?" He asked Keiran.
"A howl?" Because that's what he heard.
"Exactly,"
"Ah, a while ago Uncle, actually when I was still inside the bus we could hear the howls of wolves. You can't believe it, I saw a wolf." Keiran announced happily. "But it was huge and giant."
"You?" Fergus Suddenly grabbed Keiran in his hand, gripping it tightly. Without a word, he pulled him away. His warm palms express concern and worry. He did not know why. But his Uncle looked scared especially when he looked everywhere.
Keiran shook his head and smiled lightly. For no reason, Keiran look back and to his surprise, he saw a big wolf staring straight into his eyes, the wolf has green eyes. He parted his lips but no sound came in. The wolf glances at him and disappears like a star during the daytime.
