TUESDAY 12:00PM
"Hey there's a party at my place on Saturday, you all have to come." Clyde told his friends.
After their class had ended, Lucy and Clyde insisted they all have lunch together, Violet was glad that they could finally have lunch together only to see that their partners, Olivia and Adam, were already waiting for them at a table, smiling as they waved them over. Violet sighed, dropped her bag in the seat beside Olivia, greeted everyone and went to get her lunch because Olivia and Adam had gotten lunch for their partners. Apparently, "We don't know what you like."
'I like not being the fifth wheel.' Violet sighed, carrying her tray of food back to the the table. as the table came into view, she saw that Cole was now sitting in the space opposite hers. 'Ah fuck me' she heaved another sigh.
Back to the present, Clyde looked pointedly at her. "You have to come, you always say you'll come but you never do."
"Ah, I'll be there." She nodded, taking a sip with her lips, lying through her teeth.
"I'll look forward to seeing you, let's see if you can impress me with your dancing." Cole winked.
'Oh.' The video he had shown her on their blind date of his twerking ex came to her mind and she inwardly chuckled. 'I can hardly dance talk more of twerk.' But outwardly, she simply nodded, still sipping on chocolate milk shake. As the others spoke she grew tired, feeling like being somewhere else. Her mind drifted to Deon, she hadn't seen him since Sunday, and she didn't think he meant anything to her but free ride and free food however she found herself missing him. Thinking about his smile and almost always amused eyes when he stared at her. She'd almost asked Professor Matthew for his number but decided that would be too weird.
Unknowingly pouting, she dropped her drink on the table. 'Why is everyone disappearing?' She wondered, thinking about her brother as well. She looked up to see Cole staring at her, feeling awkward, she bowed slightly.

FRIDAY 4:39PM
Violet covered her face with her hands when she found herself at the foot of Deon's apartment building. 'What are you doing here?' She wondered, looking up at the building. She had stopped at a different junction that would still get her to her house but first to Deon's apartment building.
Violet groaned, realising it was a bad idea. 'Why am I even here? Ah right, I just want to see if he's fine since I haven't seen him in a while.' But the logic that got her here in the first place was starting to lose it's appeal. 'Well, it's not like I know his exact apartment anyway, at least I tried to check up on him.' Groaning again, she started to turn only to see Deon looking at her as he drove into the parking garage of the building. "Ah shit."
Deon who was tired from the week's work saw a familiar figure standing by the side of his building. At first he doubted that it would be her but when the person turned, his doubts disappeared and his lips curved up automatically as a strange sense of peace came over him. He drove into the garage and parked, getting out, he leaned against the trunk of his car as she walked to him. A little bit of stress left him as he caught her lips curving up but just as the smile appeared on her face, it faded as she caught sight of what was behind him.
'Bad timing.' He sighed, half amused though. "You've met Emilia before, she moved into this building recently, and a friend of hers..." Deon caught himself, 'Why am I explaining myself?'
"Pfft. I didn't ask you any question." Violet pursed her lips. "Hello," she smiled at Emilia who didn't acknowledge her greeting.
"Thank you for the ride." Emilia smiled at Deon, going into the main building and ignoring Violet.
"Ya, did she just ignore me? Does she think she's special just because she's your type? You give everybody free rides." Violet huffed, her voice going up a notch before she turned to glare at Deon.
Deon had a smile on his face as he watched her annoyed rant about how he gave everybody free rides and what did she mean that Emilia was his type? When her eyes landed on him, he chuckled and she scoffed.
"Are you okay?" She asked, still obviously annoyed and half glaring at him.
"Yeah I'm okay." His smile widened.
"Okay," she turned to go.
"That's all?" Deon raised an eyebrow. "You came all the way here just to ask if I'm okay?"
"Well, I didn't see you throughout the week, just wanted to make sure you're fine." She looked away from him.
"Ah, I see."
She shuffled her feet. "I've done that, you're okay so I'm not a bad person." she started to walk away, but Deon caught her wrist. She turned to him, her half glare still in place.
"Do I look okay?" Deon cocked his head to the side. He'd had a thoroughly busy week at work and he had only gotten seven hours of sleep in seven days and it showed on the dark circles beneath his eyes and his disheveled hair.
Violet saw all this and murmured nothing under her breath. "Well you don't." She turned back to him, making him loosen his grip on her wrist but not let go.
"Right? Right." he asked and answered his question. "Do you want to come up?" he let go of her hand, nodding at the main building.
Violet looked up at the building. "You're not going to try anything are you? I mean, you're still a guy."
"You said it yourself, my type is gone." he shrugged, smirking and walking into the building.
Violet followed after him, making a face at his head. The elevator ride was quiet all the way to the third floor, because Violet was having second thoughts. Putting in his code, the door opened with an automated sound and he turned to her when she shut the door behind her only to see her with her fists raised.
"Hey. Just so you know, I know self defence." then she looked at her fist to make sure her thumbs were outside, when she saw that it was, she nodded. "Don't try anything funny."
Deon's heart thumped from how cute she looked and he got a strong urge to tease her. "Oh." he smiled, moving closer to her. "You think those noodles will hurt me?"
"Nood–these are chicken drumsticks!" Violet exclaimed, offended. "Ya, stay where you are." Her eyes widened when the space between them grew smaller but strangely enough, she didn't feel afraid, more of nervous.
Deon stopped short inches from her, deciding against teasing her further. He smirked, walking away from her, loosening his tie. He was finally able to reconcile the company account, the first step in the process of his work with Castor Automobile and it was a mess but that part was over, now he could get a few days rest.
"Do you want water?" Violet asked when he sat down on the couch, removing his tie completely.
"Yes, it's in the fridge by the bar."
She grabbed a bottle of water and brought it over to him. Deon grabbed her hand with the water, pulling her so she fell on the seat beside him.
"Hey!" Her eyes widened in disbelief.
"You're so loud today, relax. Just stay right here, I won't bite you." Deon grinned, drinking from the bottle before laying his head on her shoulder.
"Always be on guard, always be careful." Violet mimicked him with a scoff. "Now it's relax."
Deon tried to hold back a laugh but he was unsuccessful. The next few minutes passed in silence before he murmured, making Violet strain her ears to hear what he was saying. "I missed you."
Violet's heart thumped in her chest, when he said what she had wanted to say when she saw him before 'his type' distracted her.
"I missed you too," She admitted, relaxing into the couch.
"I was working, did Matthew tell you I asked after you?"
"No he didn't."
"Ah..." Deon murmured, dozing off.
'This is strange but nice.' Violet thought with a smile.

Deon woke up first in the middle of the night. "Shit." He checked the time to see that it was 11:59 pm. He knew he'd slept off resting on her shoulder but when he woke, the roles were reversed. He placed his hand to support her head before standing and then moving her gently so she was laying on the couch. Seeing the half full bottle of water on the tea table, he took it and drank from it. Rubbing his eyes and laughing at himself when he remembered that he told Violet that he missed her. 'Gideon what are you doing?' he asked himself but a smile stretched across his lips.
His phone rang, it was a call from Fredrick.
"Gideon?"
"Yeah, what's going on?"
"It's not looking good."
Deon walked away from the living room, moving towards his bedroom. "They found out Bart reached out to you and they're mad you're getting involved."
"So what are they going to do about it?" Deon's lips curved up into a smirk, it wasn't the sweet smirk that usually settled on his face, this was a little dangerous, a little sinister. Now in his room, he closed the door behind him.
***
Violet yawned, rubbing her eyes to clear them. Looking around, she realised that she slept off at Deon's place. She took off the blanket that was over her and looked around. "Good morning," she greeted Deon who was staring at her from the bar
He smiled, pointing at the cup of tea in front of him. "Tea?"
"Tea." Violet stood up, returning his smile.
"Sorry I slept off" she murmured.
"It's fine, I should apologize for sleeping off on you too then."
"Okay?" she sat beside him on one of the bar stools.
"Okay?"
She smiled, taking a sip. "Do you know that you always say I should apologize without apologizing?"
Deon cocked his head to the side. "Do I?"
"Yes, you do, like the time you asked if you apologised for your rudeness the first time we met."
"Huh. I didn't know that." Deon nodded, taking a sip from his own cup before realising he was doing the same thing she was complaining about. "Oh, I see. Sorry for that first day, my being rude."
"It's fine, I forgot all about it already." Violet grinned.
Deon laughed, noting how it felt good to have her here in the morning. "Sure you did, what are you doing today?"
"Hmm, nothing really, I was in the library a lot this week, I don't want to use my weekend to read, so I'll probably... figure it out." she said thoughtfully.
"Are you into action movies? There's a movie show– What's wrong?" He raised an eyebrow when her back stiffened and her eyes widened a fraction.
"I just realised I've not brushed my teeth."
