After a couple more hours everyone had eaten and the party was starting to die down as people were leaving and heading home. Adriana didn't really talk to anyone during the party because it wasn't the kind of event she wanted, and as everyone left, she just raged toward the stairs. She knew in her heart that what occurred tonight would be the news of the town because Ambrose didn't show up to his own seventh wedding anniversary party. People might even be jumping into conclusions of them having some sorts of issues in their marriage or might suspect they weren't on good terms and they were only staying married because of the company, so she thought.
Tears streamed down Adriana's face as she looked at herself in the mirror. Her face was flushed and her eyes were red. She'd obviously been crying a lot because her breathing was faster than normal and she curled her hands into fists as the image of Ambrose being intimate with another woman flashed through her mind.
