“You know this is really ridiculous,” I said to Zale as more furniture was delivered to the house. “The house needs repair, and the furniture too, but there is no need to be buying this amount of stuff.”
I honestly thought that my words were just falling on deaf ears at this point. Zale helped the driver park the truck, and they then proceeded to unload the vehicle. There was only so much stuff that could be bought, and I really had no idea how he kept finding places to get everything in order.
“It’s just a few pieces of furniture,” Zale said, shrugging, as the workers began unloading all the things that he had bought.
It was easily enough furniture to replace every single thing in the house. I was almost at a loss for words. Almost, but not quite. And when I saw that the furniture was not only new but it was antique as well, I was instilled with a renewed energy.
