Adeline’s POV
“Alpha, beta, omega, rogue…” I sighed as I explained the situation to Deluna, and she nodded her head as she listened to me intently. “It’s just so arbitrary isn’t it? We use those designations to explain our way of living when… when—oh, I don’t know it’s just—”
“When it’s a part of us, but not the complete sum?” Deluna suggested as she took a large sip of her wine.
I found my eyes go wide as I stared at her in surprise that she actually got it, even though we were deep into our third bottle of Merlot.
“Exactly! Our wolves are our primitive side, but it doesn’t mean that we have to let it dominate us so much we forget our humanity,” I preached.
Deluna nodded as she chewed over my words, and I listened to her as she added her two cents too. “It’s the patriarchy…” she put in. “You know that. I know that. Everybody knows that.”
I nodded my head. I was the luna now and still what the alpha wants, the alpha gets… No matter how much it hurts and embarrasses me.
