[Ellie's P.O.V]
We blocked his path as we confronted Mason.
Mason paused and looked up at us, his eyes filled with surprise. He then smirked mockingly and said, "I was wondering why these people sneaked away from here. Turns out, it's the ones who hid Xavier. What's the matter, here for me today? But I don't have time for you right now."
He spoke and attempted to walk around us, but we simultaneously moved to block his path once again.
When he raised his head earlier, we had seen his face clearly. He didn't seem to hide his appearance. For a middle-aged man, Mason's current look only added a hint of charm, which made it understandable why Leah could be infatuated with him.
We stared at Mason coldly, not giving an inch.
He lowered his head, and though we couldn't see his expression, we noticed that his body tensed slightly.
