[Joseph's P.O.V]

"No one in our family has ever lived to see the morning of their thirty-fifth birthday. I feel incredibly lucky," Amanda said with a light laugh, resting her head gently on my shoulder. "To see the sun before I die, there's nothing more I could ask for in this life."

I didn't know how long the new medication would extend her lifespan. At this moment, my emotions were complex, and I remained silent, cherishing every moment quietly.

My vision blurred, and as I wiped away my tears, I realized I had been crying. After some time, a gentle breeze rustled Amanda's hair, making my right cheek itch slightly. I softly held down her hair, and as my fingers touched her, I sensed her eyelids closing, and her cheek felt cooler.

My heart skipped a beat, and I started shaking Amanda, saying, "Amanda? Amanda? Are you falling asleep?"

But there was no response.
