That was when I saw someone familiar among the crowd: Kans. Beside him stood a medium-sized she-wolf - she must be his wife. Kans avoided my eyes and I did the same likewise, letting my eyes linger on him for a few seconds longer before turning away.
A few years was enough to change a person's temperament. There was nothing to miss or blame.
The elders of Bright Moon Pack sat in the front row of the crowd. After looking at me, they began to whisper among each other. Then, Kans' father, Tufarre, stood up and pointed at me while saying, "Alpha, how can you allow a rogue werewolf to appear on such an important occasion? Are you trying to violate the city's laws?"
