I had overhead Anton's conversation with Father earlier, and even if he didn't want to admit it, I knew that he knew.
Honestly, I didn't know why I had gone to such lengths for them, to consider how much Father would be bothered by the auras of Omegas and rogue werewolves at Moon Manor by making him more at ease with his favorite champagne; to still remember Mother's insomnia by making sure slept with just the right pillow for the best rest. Perhaps it was because it was their first time here and I didn't want them to have a bad first impression of the place I proudly built, lived in, and managed. Or perhaps it was because deep down, I still cared about my parents.
All the accommodations for my family's visit tonight had been paid for from my pocket.
