[Ellie's P.O.V.]
It was a wonderful feeling, like a cat that had accidentally caught a fish. Anton felt my response and hugged me even tighter. I felt a little out of breath, but Anton didn't want to let go.
"Anton..." I patted his back gently, trying to send him a signal. "Let go, I can't breathe..."
I knew Anton heard my request because his grip loosened a little. But it wasn't enough. Embarrassed, I tapped his back again and said, "Anton, I'm serious. There will be many opportunities in the future. There's no need to rush things."
I wanted to tell him that there was no need to act as if we were in a life-and-death situation but in hindsight, I had dug my own grave.
Anton immediately let go of me and grabbed my arms, looking at me with serious eyes. "Are you sure?"
I didn't think anything of it at the moment because I just wanted him to let go of me quickly. With a nod, I said, "It's true."
