[Anton's P.O.V.]
I remained silent as my tears fell.
I thought I would have a lot more to say, to tell Mother about how I had changed over the years; to tell her about the real me behind the television appearance; to let her know how much I missed her. I had rehearsed the words in my head a thousand times before I came. And yet, all I could utter were three simple words. I felt that I had let her down.
Time passed and the sun rose higher in the sky. Yet, I stood before my mother's grave, reluctant to leave. It was only when I saw how Ellie was starting to sweat and her eyelids were drooping that I realized that it was time to go.
Though I didn't manage to say all that I wanted, I had at least made it here. And now that I knew where her gravestone was, I would always have the chance to speak to her again. There was no need to rush. With a deep bow, I said goodbye to my mother for today and walked back to Ellie. "Let's go."
