[Ellie's P.O.V.]
Chloe covered her face with her hands, as if she was trying to catch her tears. By now, she was sobbing when she said, "For the past year, the image of your father's death has been in my mind day and night as if reminding me that I shouldn't have lied to you. But I didn't know how to tell you, so I've been waiting for you to contact me."
Chloe looked back up at Kirk. "This is the whole truth of what happened that year. I'm not lying to you at all. I saw it with my own eyes."
Kirk avoided Chloe's expression and slowly let go of her collar. His crumpled up as he fell into deep thought after hearing Chloe's words. Even I couldn't accept this, so how could Kirk?
Chloe started to feel a little anxious when she saw how Kirk was not speaking. "I can't prove it to you if you don't believe me, but this is true," said she again.
