Meaningless?
I was stunned when I heard what Kirk said. I didn't expect him to think that way. This made me feel sad for his father. I pulled Kirk around to face me and ended his heart-wrenching words with a serious expression.
"How can it be meaningless!
"No matter what, your father died because he wanted to help Chloe. The meaning of helping others doesn't just depend on the result, it also depends on the heart."
"You're right." Kirk was stunned for a moment before he forced a smile.
It was normal for Kirk to be so doubtful. After all, this was his father we were talking about. If his father had died while saving someone, it could be considered fulfilling his wish and giving Kirk some psychological comfort. However, if his father had committed suicide, it would be too cruel for Kirk as he would have to accept the fact that his father had abandoned him for no reason.
