[Ellie's P.O.V]
The man's mouth was stuffed with a rag, and despite his wide-open eyes and the constant whining sounds coming from his mouth, we remained indifferent. This guy had received quite a few "benefits" from Leah. If he were to speak now, wouldn't it just muddle up everything we and Xavier had said earlier?
These people were used to playing both sides. I shot a meaningful look at the man. The neutral zone had existed for too long, accumulating quite a few pests that needed cleaning up. Today, perhaps, we could use him as an example.
"Is there anything else you want to say? Speak up. Don't play dumb now. We'll seriously and truthfully answer your questions. But before you speak, consider whether what you're about to say is hearsay."
The atmosphere loosened, and small discussions began in groups, but it took a while for the crowd to start talking.
