"I understand," Sandro responded without hesitation this time, nodding. "She deserves what's coming to her. I believe if my father or the elders knew, they wouldn't spare Lady Leah either. So, Mrs. Ellie, please proceed as you see fit. If you need my help, feel free to call on me anytime."
Yet, considering his relationship with Leah, how could I possibly ask Sandro for help? Could I really expect him to watch Leah make mistakes and fall from grace over and over?
I gave a non-committal response to his offer, feeling conflicted about whether I would actually involve him. The future was uncertain, and who knew if there might come a time when his assistance would be crucial?
