The last regret I ever had in my life was trusting Brian.
After escaping from the werewolf city, my leg had been injured by Ellie, and my escape was slow. With the protection of those mutated werewolves, I finally managed to elude their pursuit. I knew I couldn't stay in the werewolf city anymore. Even if I were to eke out a living in some remote corner, Ellie and Anton would surely find a way to drive me out and cut off my livelihood. Life on the run felt like a rat in the gutter, and I never thought that one day, I would become the person I despised the most.
So, I fled to the human territory and collapsed at the border between the human and werewolf cities. My wound was infected, and my head was pounding. I suspected I had a fever.
I felt like I was about to die, and I didn't even have the strength to instruct those mutated werewolves on where to take me.
