Leah replied with another question, her words sincere, and her eyes held an eager glint, almost as if there were tears shimmering within them.
Anton and I exchanged glances, and my initial inclination was to refuse. Assisting Leah would undoubtedly consume a considerable amount of time, potentially pushing Mason further away and complicating our investigation.
However, we chose a delaying tactic for now, given the many uncertainties surrounding this situation. It was best to be cautious.
"Mrs. Leah, we can't guarantee that we will definitely be able to help you. Could you please allow us to think it over? Perhaps we can give you an answer in three days, and we'll meet here in this private room again then," I gently suggested after Anton nodded in agreement.
