"I can smell it; your blood carries the scent of the Stone Lotus," the treant took a deep breath, seemingly intoxicated. "However, there's another method now that doesn't require much of your heart's blood but can temporarily extend the child's life, buying time for you to find Sproutless."
I was momentarily stunned, then joy overcame me. I looked at Anton, and he shared the excitement.
"What method is that?" Anton was more eager than me, throwing the question out before I could speak.
"In this forest, where the aura is most concentrated, you only need a small vial of your heart's blood. Let it absorb the essence of the sun and moon, then feed the child a small amount each month. It will have several times the effect," the treant explained.
This method wasn't mentioned by Odin and Freya earlier. It seemed they hadn't thought of it in their haste.
