When I heard that the gamma potion and substance Y still existed in Ellie's body, my heart jumped to my throat, fearing she might undergo another round of pain, and worried that it might affect the child as well. However, upon hearing her reassurance that everything was fine, and her voice sounding normal, I relaxed slightly.
However, the strange things she mentioned were unheard of to me, making it even more astonishing. The Stone Lotus is a sacred object of the elven race. Although the elven king had explained its effects before, there was no mention of it allowing people to see things they shouldn't. It seemed even more mysterious now. Could it be that the Stone Lotus had effects unknown even to the elven race?
"Is there nothing ahead of us?" I looked into the pitch-black darkness; even the light from the phone couldn't fully illuminate it. It was like a wild beast lurking in the dark, waiting for us to walk into its mouth.
