I was slightly taken aback, realizing his intention. However, it differed a bit from what I knew, as I had never heard of this method before.
"How do we do this?" I glanced at the scissors in his hands, puzzled.
Anton chuckled softly, not saying a word. He silently opened the bottle of wine, poured a full glass in a porcelain cup, and then took the scissors in one hand. With the other, he circled a strand of his hair at the base and snipped it off with a crisp "snip."
My gaze followed his movements, and when I saw a strand of his hair being cut, I suddenly understood.
Now, he reached out for my hair. "Each of us takes a strand of our hair, tie them together, soak them in the grape wine, then ignite a small fire. When a neat purple circle forms on the inner wall of the porcelain cup, we are halfway to success."
