[Ellie's P.O.V]
None of us had anticipated Karina's sudden action. After exchanging a shocked glance with Anton, we observed Panse to see if any harm would come to him. Panse was currently under police custody, and although we had the authority to intervene in his punishment, if something happened to the criminal in our hands, it could complicate matters.
Karina had just heard Panse confessing to murder, and she might be determined to avenge the wizard. She had fed something to Panse after hearing his admission, and we wondered if it was some form of retribution.
"No need to watch; he won't die. It just makes him temporarily unable to speak," Karina stated coldly, rising slowly and giving Panse a disdainful look. Panse attempted to open his mouth but could only produce hoarse sounds.
Seeing that Panse showed no life-threatening symptoms, we believed Karina's words. She had merely silenced Panse for a while; letting him die like this would be too lenient.
