Or perhaps, it wasn't a dream but a scene I had witnessed before fainting while investigating Joseph's laboratory. Hundreds of werewolves were confined in several cages, stretching out their hands for help. Their eyes carried helplessness, faint expectations, with withered faces and tattered clothes.
These people seemed to have not suffered the torment of drugs yet. My heart ached, but I had to steel myself and pass by them, following Carlisle to the last cage. In my heart, I could only say to them, "I'm sorry, please wait a little longer."
I didn't know how many mutated werewolves had succeeded so far, whether Anton and the alliance of the elves could resist, and whether these people would be taken for experiments in the coming days. Therefore, I dared not make too many movements.
The werewolves we passed were all staring at me. Some seemed numb, without any reaction, just turning their necks as I moved.
