I responded with a smile. No one wanted to make a losing deal, and I certainly didn't want everyone's efforts to be in vain. I couldn't imagine how a city ruled by those people would be, but it was bound to be brutal.
Shortly after Kevin left, representatives from various small gangs also arrived. My time was quickly filled up, and I had to admire Kevin's efficiency.
I had to host group after group of them. As a sign of their sincerity, they would leave something behind before leaving. So, after they departed, the items left on the living room table were all tokens from different gangs, each indicating the deployment of their gang members. I could only shake my head, amazed at their trust in us. They entrusted me with even such important things.
