I had wondered why Charles openly displayed the stolen things in his home. It turned out that after he changed his appearance, he cut off contact with his relatives and friends, becoming a freelancer at home. He didn't socialize with others, nor did he invite his friends over. In short, he had been keeping a low profile, almost as if he was living in fear.
