[Ellie's P.O.V.]
In order to meet the needs of all kinds of people we wanted to accommodate, we had to custom-make some of the furniture. Wenze told us that he knew many good carpenters who could fulfill our request. Out of our trust in him, we only hired those he recommended without hesitation and entrusted them to make suitable furniture for us.
This chair was one of the custom-made furniture by the worker standing next to me. In a barrel of apples, some would be good, and some would be bad. This worker was one of the latter. Moreover, they had been taking their sweet time making the furniture. This particular one that I shattered had been a work in progress for a month. Every time I passed by, he would be working on this chair, and yet, it was still incomplete.
Wenze seemed to be aware that we were short of manpower and didn't dare to fire the workers easily, so they could slack off at will.
