The guards I had stationed to secretly watch Ferocious Tiger Gang had reported Axi and the others' movements. I decided to leave them alone. Since Ellie didn't want to rely on anyone, especially when they didn't tell Kirk or me about the details of her plan, I would just have to wait and see.
It had been a while since I assigned a guard to watch Ellie from the shadows. He would report his observations to me on a daily basis. That was how I knew her whereabouts and what she was up to all the time even though I wasn't always with her.
That night, I was still awake when Ellie got up and went out. I would just have to wait for the guard to report to me later. It wasn't until dawn when the guard came to tell me that she had returned. As if on cue, I acted as if I had just gotten out of bed as I went down to greet her.
