[Ellie's P.O.V.]
Ever since I returned to the pack, I didn't ask much about Kans and Yili rarely talked to me about him. It was only that morning that she brought him up with a few good things to say just to convince me to meet him. But it still didn't help me understand him much.
And I no longer had the patience to deal with these things as if I had to walk on eggshells. Regardless of how Kans felt about me, I had always only treated him as a friend.
However, out of guilt for what happened before, I said, "Thank you for being willing to help me before. If you need my help, I will do my best to repay you."
"I... I'm doing fine too." Kens smiled reluctantly. "I hope you're doing well."
"Kans, don't be stubborn anymore. We both have our mates… We were never going to end up together. If you need help, I will do my best to help you. But you need to stop thinking about me."
