[Ellie's P.O.V.]
I closed the door behind Anton, giving him space and time to digest what happened to Aidi.
In the meantime, I sat in my office, ready to spend the night there. had decided to tell Anton everything about Aidi. He didn't rush me for more information, but I knew he should know what kind of she-wolf she was. He deserved to know that even if Aidi was no longer with us, her love for him still existed. He needed to understand that it wasn't just Panse who had led to Aidi's death, but also the unfair status discrimination.
Myron was at Olly's tonight, so he must be asleep by now. With nothing else to do, I waited for Anton to come out.

After Ellie left, I took the one-year-old box and set it on an empty spot on the floor to open it. There was a rattle drum and a hand-knitted child's sweater that didn't seem very refined.
