What a brainless person Madam Kerry was. The more I argued with her, the more afraid I was of hurting my intelligence. It was best to simply stop speaking to her. I had already signed the contract anyway and I would never give up this piece of land, especially not to these sisters.
Madam Garlin, in comparison, was quite a patient person. "My younger sister tends to speak without thinking. Madam Ellie, please don't take it to heart."
I smiled and ignored Madam Kerry since she only knew how to talk. The one I should be the most vigilant with was Madam Garlin.
Madam Kerry was not convinced by what Madam Garlin said. She looked at me with resentment before a hint of joy appeared on her face as if her plan had succeeded. I frowned.
The pair did not seem to have any intentions of leaving. It couldn't be that they planned to stay until they got the land.
