"I won't." I smiled and shook my head. "There's an old man in Uncle Olly's car. He won't let Mom become a demon."
Although it would seem like I was lying to a child, it was true if things went smoothly. And even though the wizard insisted on coming along, claiming to be the only one who knew how to cure me, I had a feeling that he had another motive.
We drove out the same way we drove in, but for some reason, this journey back felt longer and heavier. I offered to swap with Anton and drive some parts of the journey, but he didn't agree. As a result, his eyes became bloodshot.
I arranged for the wizard to stay in Moon Manor and gave him a more remote room because he didn't like to be disturbed.
