[Ellie's P.O.V.]
Anton knelt by my bed and kept begging me. He sounded like he was about to cry. I was stunned for a moment. I had seen the cold and overbearing side of Anton, but I had never seen such a vulnerable side to him. Here he was asking for my forgiveness and repenting for his mistakes.
I fell silent for a while. I wanted to refuse because my heart was so fragile, but I couldn't bring myself to say it when I saw Anton's expression.
I asked myself repeatedly in my heart, ever since Anton found me, did I really not want to get close to him? This was the only hurdle I kept struggling to get over.
When I didn't say anything, Anton looked up at me with pitiful eyes but also love, the kind that I had been looking forward to. His expression didn't waver as he tightened his grip on my hand. "Ellie, I know that it's all my fault. You can blame me and hate me. I won't fight back even if you hit me. I just hope that you can agree to my request.
