[Ellie's P.O.V.]
When we realized that the biggest connection between Chloe and Kirk's father was the incident that happened in Arya River, we came to the river again to investigate. This river was where everything began.
We searched the river for a few days but didn't find any clues. Everything we observed about the river was the same as the investigators. It was deep but surprisingly clear. When we bent down, we could see the fish swimming in the water. It was hard to find something when you didn't know what you were looking for.
I started to feel frustrated again. We couldn't walk around like headless flies. However, Kirk didn't want to give up. He even put in more effort than before. When he opened his eyes every day, he would run to this river by himself, feeling as if there would be something to be discovered that was overlooked the day before. But I could understand him. The only thing that we could place our hope on was...this river.
