[Ellie's [P.O.V.]
"Kirk, do you think I shouldn't have said those things?"
Kirk and I were sitting on the chairs outside the hospital's emergency room. Even though we stopped her in the middle of her fall, the back of her head had already hit a few steps hard, causing her to faint.
The wedding ended with drama. We called the ambulance and the police, where the former took Chloe to the hospital while the latter arrested the village chief for their investigation.
Time passed by but the emergency room door did not open.
"If I didn't tell her, at least Chloe still had something to live for. But I destroyed it all. It's too cruel to her. If it wasn't for me, Chloe's illness wouldn't have acted up, and she wouldn't have become like this."
I lowered my head and curled myself up in the corner. Tears trickled down from the corners of my eyes. The guilt and shame in my heart almost filled my entire body.
