I watched her as she lit a small flame on her palm. I was shocked that she had that much understanding of magic.
She was only 4 years old but already had her mana core awakened and knew how to use it.
The youngest your able to awaken was at 5, and the only way you'd awaken earlier was if you were a case like me or you were just very in tune with mana.
I watched as she tried shooting the flame from her palm to the tree. She was able to shoot it, but it dwindled the moment it left her palm.
She let out a frustrated sigh and tried it again but the same outcome occurred, but as time passed the flame lasted longer and longer until it was able to reach the tree.
She jumped in happiness and then started wobbling, she put her hand on her head and sat down.
This was happening because she used too much mana. Her little body didn't have much to begin with, so I was surprised when I saw her cast so much.
But I was surprised again when I saw her meditating. This made me think about whether she was trained from the day she awakened.
No 4-year-old would be able to meditate without proper guidance and the only way I could think of a solution to her being able to meditate was her father.
He's powerful himself, so him wanting his daughter to be powerful as well wouldn't be surprising.
"Tess, come on in we're leaving!"
Hearing Ithil's voice, Tess got up from the ground and started walking out of the forest. I hide behind a tree to not be seen. I slowly followed her at a distance and we eventually came back to the house.
"Goodbye Anne goodbye John, I'll see you in a few weeks."
Ithil waved his hand to Anne and John and waving back they said "See you then and have a safe trip back."
They went on their ways and Anne's hand landed on my shoulder.
"Let's go in."
…
2 weeks have passed and we were currently walking with Ithil and Tess to a city I have never been to.
They said it was called the Union Kingdom and guess by the name it was most likely a place similar to Endel, where all different races lived in one.
Arriving at the sight of a building even bigger than the one in Endel, we walked in and made our way to the place they wanted to show us.
Ithil lead us to a place where we could rent out carriages and rented one for us to take.
We started heading to the huge building in the distance and the closer we got the farther the building seemed.
"It looked close from the entrance but it's so far away."
John said while slouching on the carriage seat.
"That's why we rented this carriage, it would've taken us an hour to get there on foot but with the carriage, we'll get there in 30."
Ithil said while staring at the building in the distance. Now that I looked at it again, it was better than the palace in Endel.
…
Arriving at the gates of the building, we were told by Ithil that someone was going to come and get us.
A few minutes passed and a slim elf came to view.
"Good morning Ithil."
The elf greeted Ithil while Ithil introduced us.
"Good morning headmaster, these are my friends Anne and John and this is their child Kayden."
Introducing us to each other the headmaster greeted us.
"Nice to meet you John, Anne, and you as well Kayden. My name's Haldir."
Shaking hands and finishing our introduction, he lead us inside.
…
We were in the middle of a huge hallway with numerous doors on both sides. We made it to the end of the hall and entered the door that had a sign saying 'HeadMaster Office'.
We went in and all sat down on a chair.
"So, what did you want to discuss Ithil?"
Haldir looked at Ithil but his eyes were full of respect for him.
"I came here to talk about a way, I could apply Kayden into this academy."
Academy? We never had something like that back then everyone was practically self-taught.
"I would usually have to make a board meeting to discuss this, but if it's a request from you it's ok."
Haldir opened a desk and took out a paper and handed it to Anne.
"You'll have to sign this."
"What is it about?"
Anne asked wanting to get an answer from Haldir but Ithil responded in his place.
"It's identification paper, so when Kayden turns old enough to attend the academy his name will already be inside the system."
Hearing Ithil's response Anne grabbed a feather from a cup and dipped it and ink and started signing the paper.
"All done."
Anne handed the papers to Haldir who inspected them and then said "Wonderful, I can't wait to hear from you in the near future."
Getting up from his chair he reached his hand over the desk for a handshake with John and Anne.
After the handshake, Haldir lead us all out and waved us goodbye.
"Thank you so much Ithil."
"No worries, it's the least I can do for a friend."
"Now I'll bring you guys back home."
"Oh no, we wouldn't want to trouble you anymore than we already have, we'll walk on our own."
"Are you sure?"
"Positive."
Reassuring Ithil, Anne started walking down the path we came from.
First, a city, then Tess being able to use magic, and now an academy, I just keep getting surprised with things every day.
I can't wait for the future things are going to be real interesting.
