Three hours and less than ten minutes later, here I was seated on this wonderful soft cushion in a Psychologist office, waiting for my turn. Now I'm pretty sure the design of this place didn't include a waiting room for clients. So I was in an unplanned scenario where I got to listen to what made this woman visit the Psychologist this monday morning. I mean if you got a problem on a Monday morning, then how's the rest of your week going to play out ?.
"You see Li, I have tried my best. Like my fucking very best!. I mean you could say I have been the best wife so goddamn far, I mean I suck, I fuck, wash and clean. With all these things he still doesn't care about me. He comes back late from work, hardly buys gifts anymore and after sex which he's actually not doing badly...I mean he satisfies me, then he says he's going for a smoke".
Taking a breather, she continued.
"And after that, he's gone. I mean gone for the whole day and the next time I see him is in the morning, smelling of booze and one other nasty but enticing smell that I have no idea of. I mean what does he usually do during those hours while his beautiful wife lays on the bed, all alone in the cold".
"I'm just tired Li".
Her voice became sober as she grabbed a white napkin from her bag embroidered with red roses to wipe away the little beads of tears that were threatening to fall.
She sniffed for a second or two before continuing.
"Though Li, he's a good man. Provides for me, that's, any car I want: bags;clothing, whatever. So far it's nice and he can afford it, he sends the money right away". "One of the things I love of him. I mean when I met him, he was like the Prince charming every princess dreamt of".
She pouted and then blinked twice in a cute way. "And he's still my Prince charming".
She smiled as she spoke fondly of him.
Then her face did a dramatic switch from happiness to sadness as her rosy plump cheeks squeezed.
"But he doesn't want kids" she began to sob out loud, yet again.
"Oh God, women! "
I muttered under my breathe.
I mean this species of humans feel they should, could and always eat their cake and have it at the same fucking time. Speaking of time, I knew the schedule I was running was very tight and relied on accuracy and no wasting of time in order to achieve the perfection that I was attaining for.
I stood up and took three short steps to the nearest window to the couch and stared outside.
The building of the police precint came into my view as Its three levels with huge opaque glasses reflected the rays of the morning sun.
The building was bustling as men and women in black outfits, both shirt and pants walked in and out. Down the lane, you could also see few cop cars driving in and out from their garage which was just after the station by the left, my left; their right.
"Beautiful".
Was the only word he muttered as he grinned evily with a smirk on his face, he continued.
"I wonder when they would find my presents"
Immediately, he turned towards the two women discussing about one's married love life issues.
Surprisingly, they both stopped talking and stared at him. The chubby brunnet shivered slightly as she saw his gaze was upon her. Madam Li wasn't shaken, as she kept her composure despite seeing his evil smirk and crazy display of facial emotions. As expected from his ex wife. When you live with a crazy person for sometime, you become at least half insane.
Quickly he gave a gentle smile as he saw the therapist was frowning at him. He guessed she didn't like him intimidating her client. I mean who would want that cause such action was actually bad for business.
"Ladies, ladies, please remain calm".
"I just thought of something, that was why I had that iconic facial expression" he continued.
"You wouldn't mind if I join you right"
He politely asked while stretching out his hand to grab a seat. Plopping down, he looked to his right and stared at the cute lady. Now she was cute on a closer look. She muttered a 'hi' and stared at her Therapist with a look that said 'is this right or normal in any sense, plus where the fuck is my privacy you promised in your resume.'
He cleared his throat as the lady looked at him, and smiled reassuringly signalling that she could go on with the story as he was all ears.
"Ma'am please do continue. I know you only paid for one therapist to listen to your life problems but two heads are better than one; seconded by the lucky guy in a threesome, so don't fret. Because I'm not going to charge you for my time, this is free, plus you get to hear my advice and choose to keep it".
He quietly said as he began to stare at madam Li.
"Excuse me, but is this okay" she asked. As she stared at Li in front, and then me.
"Yeah, it's" he loudly affirmed.
Staring straight at Li in the eyes, I continued.
""Anxiety weighs down the heart, but a kind word cheers it up; Proverbs 12:25".
"I have got a lot of kind words for you, my dear"
Turning to Cindy, he smiled and gently said.
"Okay, what ever you say Mr Freaky scary pope".
She turned around and was about to continue her story before being interrupted by him yet again. Honestly speaking, he didn't care about what ever the fuck the lady was spitting, whether it was her problems or her fantasies not coming to life or that the goddamn fairies were not doing their job properly in granting wishes, just wasn't his business. He came for the therapist and the therapist he was going to get.
"Fuck"
He mouthed out loudly as both ladies looked at him. That early morning exercise has been ticking him off to the ground. He just wanted everything to burn to the ground, including that fucking blue and black walking Joe's and Jane's right outside there. I mean not them literally but their bug factory of solving crime and saving the world bullshit of an operation base. He knew he was getting aggressive little by little and also knows that he had better get his emotions under control, hence the weeks of planning would end up bearing a premature fruit.
"Look ladies, I know you both are having a lovely time here , especially you Mrs Cindy. But please, could I have just five minutes with Li right here."
He spoke audibly, in a soothing but hurried tone.
"So what do you say Ma'am, five minutes, and when the time elapses, I would give you a tip that Li here won't be able to".
"So you get free tips for me for just five minutes of your time becoming idle".
He stared at her with a blank face. He didn't want to intimidate her or persuade her, he wanted her to choose what was best for her, but he prayed she wasn't one of those obnoxious women who would always be annoying, as that would be another headache he wasn't willing to go through.
Meanwhile, Li just raised an eyebrow after hearing what he said. She began to wonder when her ex became a counsellor for marriages, when he couldn't even save his own.
She thought about it for some seconds while staring at Li who made no effort to say a word but stare at the whole scene playing out in front her while masking what she felt or was going through with a poker face.
"Alright Bishop, I agree. You better make sure your advice is worth my five minutes" she said to him, as she stood up, picked her caramel coloured hand bag and turned to face Li.
"Li, I would be back in five minutes, nothing more nor less. And if this Bishop goes crazy again with that his weird freaking smile, just call me and I would be right here...." She immediately trailed off her last sentence as she began to think of how she would incapacitate me if I posed danger to her beloved therapist. She could have said ' I would punch or kick him hard in the nuts, while we call 911' as the ending sentence, but I knew she was skeptical about that part because for all she knew, I could be an eunuch.
Li smiled reassuringly, and after an acknowledged nod from both sides, the lady walked out, but not before glancing at my side once again.
"Try Anal girl, try Anal".
I responded with a wide smirk that failed to hide my unholy intentions. Her mouth opened in shock with bewildered eyes as the door closed after her.
The sound of the door echoed softly and all forms of noise were sealed out, apart from the slow but faithful ticking of the wall clock.
Li stared at the man called Otis seated in front of her. It had been a while. It been like how many years, five or six, since she last saw him. And here he was, sitted in front of her in her newly acquired office to begin a new path for herself until one of her past showed up. Looking at him with curiosity , she noticed how he had changed just a little bit, and that was in physical appearance. Lack of hair, that one was so obvious and she wanted to scream what the fuck Otis, but now wasn't the moment. Plus his iris were both gray and blue, I mean she could still remember that the man she married and later divorced was always gray. where's the blue coming from ?
Though they weren't together anymore, she still couldn't forget this man nor deny the fact that he once shared a part of her. The one who was once the love of her life. His eyes, one was different from the other, she noticed briefly, and she wondered what he really wanted from her. The only fruit of their love was gone and their marriage was long dead. She had no attachments with the man in front of her, yet she didn't chase him out because she wondered why he was here. For she knew that Otis wasn't just a simple man, and one who hated wasting his time.
"So what brings you here Otis ?"
She asked calmly while staring at his face which had a slight smile on it.
"Hi Lisa, pretty as always. It's been a while".
He broke into a wide smile as he quickly retorted.
