"Lord Tegan was a benevolent priest, the forgiving and peace bringer. He was the one who saved the countless families destroyed by war. He was guided throughout his journey through prophecies sent by angels. They delivered the words of the Goddess and the high priests would receive them and act upon it.
There were rare instances, when the prophecy would be heard in the main statue room. The room which is only visited by the Lord Tegan and his Junior Priest, Rome. The room had a big statue of the Goddess dressed in battle armor with feathers surrounding her among clouds. It was a great piece of artistry. No one knew who made it, Some believe it to be an angel who was sent to the people.
The prophecies read in that room, would be fulfilled no matter what. The fate of the world was sealed there. The marriage of my mother and the king of Fiera was also done so. The prophecy mentioned me too. But no one could guess it. It was a very wild possibility.
The prophecy goes:
When the moon goes atop the Crimson mountain, meeting the sun.
A fair woman with a trace of poisonous flames, deep purple shall see the one
Her future partner, ruler of the North, The naive who is oblivious of a demon present.
He and her would be one the next year and make friends who they would resent
The seed thrown aside would come of age,
The mother's heart filled with rage.
The priests couldn't make sense of it, Though it made perfect sense to me. It was the second prophecy to be ever heard in the main room. The priests had written it in a book and forgotten all about it. While I was playing with my friends, I cam across the book and read all the prophecies in which the 'purple flamed one' would always be mentioned.
I was scared. Many prophecies claimed the end of the purple haired one is near. I sneaked around to hear more of the prophecies. To make proper sense so I could plan to do something. During the prayer rounds I sneaked about and secretly went into the room. The main room.
The magic there tried to keep me out. But I fought back and entered. I closed the door as soft as I could. My hands had bruises from trying to enter. I approached the goddess who looked so angelic even in her armor. Her majestic expression made me shiver. I knew I was making a lot of mistakes at once but I went closer. As I stepped into the inner circle of the statue my hand burned. I looked at the statue and it looked like the expression had grown angrier.
I stepped back. I knelt down and prayed for a while, I then stepped closer. The resistance was not much. I could touch the statue. I touched the plaque of the statue which read,
"Goddess Divine Valerie, The Final War 000",
I moved my fingers around the inscription, the door opened. I ran to cover behind the statue.
The statue then glowed golden and hot. The statue read out another prophecy.
"The war starts again due to a child's fight
The heir of North gets his right
The purple one is close to you Tegan
Remove them for their reign began
The time you picked the seed from a father
And brought them hither."
I shivered when the prophecy made sense with my identity substituting the purple one in the prophecy. I stood still until the priests went away. I looked at the statue once again and tried to touch it when suddenly a magic circle opened beneath my feet and chained my legs.
I could feel a thousand or million needles trying to sew me from inside, My throat and nose felt as though lava was poured into it. My feet were as cold as ice, the frostbite like a thousand dagger. My whole body was freezing and melting at the same time.
As a way to protect myself, I summoned the purple flame. The flame burnt in different colors. Blue and red as it tried to protect me. I saw that it was in pain too. But it kept me away from pain by carrying me in its arms.
"Don't touch me purple-flame.", The goddess statue spoke and changed its posture to holding a spear with its head pointing to me. The door opened and Tegan stood there with the most evil grin I could have ever seen.
He ran and pulled me aside. He saved me. I was thankful and thought the evil smile was just my hallucination.
He looked at me and said.
"The purple one, It's you. Finally I found you, Amaranth.", He stroked my hair.
"My name is Eleni. Father Tegan.", I said.
"Now onwards, you are Amaranth. You will help me right? Since I saved you.", He asked.
"Yes, Father.", I nodded.
I would have never guessed what it would have been. He made an oath with me, that I would pay him back to save my life. If I knew what the help would have been, I would have never agreed. I regret it till date. It was my first ever actual crime.
"What must I do father?", I asked.
"Nothing much. Just kill someone. That's it.", He said calmly admiring on the change of the statue's posture and not worried that a statue just moved.
"What do you mean sir?", I asked.
"Kill. You know, remove a life out of someone.", He said.
"But..", I tried to disagree.
"You made an oath.", He said and I could feel the strong threads of the oath trapping my neck. I resisted but I instead was met with a thousand whips, the marks appeared almost instantly with so much pain that I couldn't feel anything anymore.
"What do you say, Amaranth?", He said
"I will... Who?", I said, crying.
"A simple person, The heir of Kamaj, Prince Wane.", He said.
"What? The crown prince of Kamaj?", I exclaimed.
"Yes. He is just a boy. I think you can do it. I will guide you throughout just follow me.", He said placing his fingers on my throat.
"Yes, Father.", I sniffled as I looked at the statue which also cried as I did.
The next month, Prince Wane of Kamaj died. No, Killed. Upon the orders of Tegan, an innocent one who took the blame was Prince Kael of Lozano. Everything according to Tegan's plan.
