The Lovell Residence, South Pasture, Colorado.....
The possibly expecting mother to be, Rae Lovell, found herself a bundle of nerves as she awaited Duke to pull the old car from the shed. He parked his bike and tossed the keys into a draw of his bedroom coming to the conclusion that if Rae had indeed been pregnant that a motorcycle wasn't the safest means of travel for her and the baby. It was quite a relief for Rae as she had not been too fond of his bike to begin with, or at least she wasn't fond of the seating arrangement and the numbness in her legs afterwards. The possibility of being pregnant had stirred her and Duke both to take more cautious safety measures. Duke seemed in good spirits as he opened the car door for her eased her into the passenger seat.
Rae had never seen him look so nervous as she had when she told him that she'd been pregnant. Duko climbed into the driver side of the car and started the engine. The pasture looked much bigger this time around, now that Rae had a chance to actually see it in full detail without the distraction of her worrying about her possible pregnancy or whether or not Charles Lovell would accept her into the family.
She was seemingly impressed with the place where her husband had spent much of his youth and thought it a much better place to be raised than Trenton County. Duke himself had not seemed so impressed but he continued the drive on a pleasant note none the less. He had not given much thought to the idea of becoming a father in his own right, his long and heated nights sharing a bed with his young wife didn't factor in the ultimate outcome leading to parenthood.
They reached the highway but this time Rae had been comfortable enough to relax in the passenger seat while she stared out the window and rested a hand on her belly. The memories of what the pregnancy test had confirmed as far as what her own suspicions had been was something of a relief. Despite the newness of the situation, she was glad that Duke was supportive in her time of need. She had heard horror stories of girls in her year getting pregnant from their encounters with school boys only to be cast aside after the fact or made to seek out an abortion.
Her mother had even told her once that she'd considered it before having her and had been getting abortions after she was born with the possible siblings she might have had, of course due to her mother's profession and chosen lot in life, there was no guarantee that Ed Earl had even sired the would be babies. Which was probably the whole reason she got rid of them in the first place.
Despite the late start, Rae was feeling a bit more exhausted than usual and elected to rest her eyes as Duke drove them toward town.

The Road to Old Town, Colorado....
Rae's eyes opened the moment she felt the slowing of the car as she looked around to find the old pasture had disappeared and they were once more given to city like structures that dominated the now booming larger town. She seemed delighted for the change in scenery although she recalled why they had been in a car and on the road again in the first place. The result of the at home pregnancy test had been something on her mind since she got them.
"You feeling okay?" asked Duke despite keeping his eyes on the road.
"Yes." replied Rae placing her hand back on her belly. "More than okay, we'll finally know once we get to the doctor if we're having a baby for real."
Duke seemed to be in agreement despite mostly eyeing the road.
"We'll be there soon." he said ensuring that she remained calm and relaxed. "Then we'll get a bite to eat, and you can see the doctor about our baby."
Rae smiled at him. It was an odd thing hearing him speak about their possible baby. It was almost as if he'd been absolutely sure about her pregnancy despite not being able to verify it with a doctor just yet.
Still, she was pleased that he'd been as ecstatic about it as she was while the car continued to make it's way along the road. It was a charming place to be, something she considered along her list of potential homes for herself, Duke, and their possible unborn baby.
It was something to have a family or rather the makings of one after being treated so poorly when she'd been reduced to locking herself inside her own bedroom back in Trenton, County.

Mutual Memorial Hospital, Colorado....
Rae was quite nervous as she sat on the strange hospital bed, draped in the none too comfortable gown as she awaited the results of her last series of tests. Duko was sitting beside her with his hand on her belly as he kissed it in a bid to make her more comfortable. He had not been much for hospitals, as he found them to be crowded and noisy places that seemed to intensify his anxiety, but he knew Rae needed him and that she needed the irrefutable proof that she had indeed been pregnant. The attending doctor finally returned after a long wait which only proved to intensify both Duko and Rae's anxiety as the news was something they had both been looking forward to in order to properly plan for their future.
The doctor, and average sized man with nice hair and an award winning smile flashed it at them as he looked over Rae's chart. He was quite concerned about her age when they had first arrived but Duko provided legal proof of their union and he nodded at seeing it. He expressed his professional opinion about her age and the possible complications that could come from being pregnant at such a young age, but for the most part she was healthy and in good shape.
"Well Mr. and Mrs. Lovell, it appears your hunch and pregnancy test were up to par...you are indeed pregnant." said the doctor with another smile. "I suggest you get plenty of rest, keep up with your nutrition, take your vitamins and find yourself a reputable and constant physician."
Duko seemed to freeze when he heard all this but he'd been attentive all the same. Rae burst into happy tears finally hearing the confirmation she'd been waiting for. They were going to have a baby. She and Duko were going to be parents. Better parents than the lousy monsters whom had claimed to have raised her.
Duko kissed her on the forehead and dried her tears. He seemed content with the news and the fact that there would be a new addition to their family in quite a few months. The couple shared a kiss and eventually Rae was allowed to leave with Duko getting all the paperwork and their car from the parking garage.
As Rae and Duko pulled away from the hospital, she once more placed a hand on her belly.
She was truly pregnant and couldn't have been more pleased.
