Don’t you love me, your highness?

Saffron Swiftpool is a fairy who never grew her wings. Though she is flightless, she is still considered a great beauty by her village. When Saffron and her family attend the rebirth ball hosted by King Ignis Phoenix, she falls into a fountain and is saved by Prince Ash. After giving her the kiss of life, King Ignis declares that they must marry to preserve both of their honour. Saffron is humiliated when the Prince mocks her winglessness and refuses to spend their wedding night together. After she overhears maids making fun of her and asserting that the Prince could never love a fairy anyway, Saffron vows to do whatever it takes to make Prince Ash love her, and then shatter his heart.
