Complete silence is all that comes when Seth steps through the door, a silence so loud that I can feel myself and everybody else on edge.
"Why is he not Talking?" I whisper to Abby.
She responds by taking out her phone and turning it in my direction so I could also see. But we see nothing. The screen is pitch black. Abby taps her phone lightly, but nothing happens, she gives it a shake and still nothing.
"Yours. Let's try yours." She whisper back. Her voice has the same edge mine did earlier.
I fumble with my phone, because the app had closed itself and the rebooting takes forever.
"When do you plan on getting a new phone? This is like the oldest, slowest model." Abby asks with scrunched up brows.
"Never planned on doing so."
"Erin, are you getting this? How is she still your best friend when she has not changed her phone? Does it not bother you?"
