I chuckle uneasily. Like what she was saying was stupid and unheard of. Humans did not know about us, should not, let alone have a machine that detects our kind. That was impossible. Yet, why did I bleed? Why was I shaking from the top of my head to the tips of my toes.
"I know you think I sound crazy."
I rush to my defence, "Logically, I mean you are supposed to deal with facts and not fairy tales like werewolves. What is next fairies?" I ask as flippantly as I can under the circumstances.
"As a journalist I am supposed to keep an open mind and I suggest you do the same, because what I am about to tell you is hanging on it."
I pick up my purse from where it landed at my feet whilst I wiped blood away from my nose. I have to get out of here, before she realises that her machine could detect me.
