Chereads / In A Game As A Blood Mage / Chapter 9 - Chapter 9

Chapter 9 - Chapter 9

Alex can smell the terrible smell of burned flesh, in his first life his uncle used to have a mass production farm. So he is familiar with killing and seeing animals get killed and slaughtered. He still remembers the time when his uncle taught him that killing when killing a chicken you need to cut off its head for the best efficiency. But when the body still moved around, that gave the young Alex in his first life quite a shock.

So just like that, when goblins are skewered by his pet Pork (The Fire Boar). He wasn't bothered by it, due to never really seeing the goblins as above animals so it didn't really affect him. Even when their guts and green blood splattered around he never really even feels anything.

When he killed the older man, he was prepared for it, so he easily suppresses his emotions. Bottling them up for a later date when he has the freedom to deal with them.

Alex can't help but swallow hard…

'As expected, killing humans in such a brutal way did shock me. But this definitely helped me get used to the gore. Hmm… there shouldn't be any more Blood Cult members, because when they meet here they always do so as a whole. But… better be sure.' Thinks Alex as he casts the spell:

"Blood Familiar"

To create some more blood snakes that will self explode and notify him if someone enters the hideout, and for some reason, Alex can't hear the door. The snakes will notify him… his mind already fully in control of his irrational feelings.

After he already calmed down enough. He looks at the dead victims of his actions. He will never kill needlessly if it doesn't give me some type of benefits. This time… he predicted that he is most likely going to panic, but he still needed to prepare himself for the future to not panic when seeing cruel or gruesome deaths… or maybe even doing themselves. He wouldn't even dare dream of never needing to do those in his rise to power in this world.

He knows best just how ordinary his power of having just the gamer interface is. After some time, it will not even be as effective as some other strengthening methods. So he already plans to advance along...

Alex sighs in uncertainty, he cannot predict the future as much as he likes to. 'I believe that raising the intelligence stat will help me with things like this.'

He just gets up and starts looting the corpses, by first taking off their clothes, even the ones who were burned into their skin, and then using his skill; "Blood Sacrifice" to suck out the dead blood cult member's blood to regenerate his mana in almost a second, especially since they are all Rank 1 their blood has more energy regenerative properties to Alex.

He then also checks his status and sees that his Exp has gone up from killing the Blood Cult members. That is good for him since he plans to mass level up soon.

After checking their corpses and any loot that they might have, what he got is around 400 Gold Coins. Which is quite a lot for the current him. Obviously not as much as the millions of gold that he used to fling around in the game like it was no big deal. But this is still enough to help him start.

'When I get to the Magic City, I can make so much gold that it will be unlikely for me to ever run out of gold. But with this 400 Gold, I can easily multiply it.' Thinks Alex, already thinking over his plans for when he arrives there.

After taking all of the loot and putting it to the side Alex decides that after stripping the dead people naked. He uses the"Fireball" spell to burn the bodies.

'Though unlikely, if a necromancer and a mind reader come here to revive and read the memories of the dead in here. My actions will be discovered and people will ask questions for me… which isn't good at all. So it's better and more efficient to completely burn the bodies.' Contemplates Alex as he truly does burn the bodies to a crisp, leaving nothing behind but the ashes.

Then after the deed is done, Alex looks at my hands… He… He has always wanted to be in control. Fate and life are unpredictable… but that is what people who like to just ride along life's road say.

He is not someone like that… He doesn't believe in things like fate. He believes in actions and reactions. If someone does an action, there will be a reaction, that is the fundamental rule of everything.

For example, when someone doesn't study for their exams they are most likely to get a bad grade. It wasn't fate or something like that, it was simply a reaction to his decided action. If someone can predict thousands of scenarios, and plan the perfect responses to those scenarios, he will be in control of his own life and get the best results possible from his life.

Alex wonders… if he gets a high intelligence stat, will he be able to predict every outcome. Will that happen when he reaches the God Level in Intelligence Stat Number. Will he finally be in control if that happens?

Suddenly his eyes widened into a realization.

'NO, I mustn't think that way. I need to control myself. I must not base my goals around my control tendencies. I need a clear goal and follow that, it will help me plan accordingly.' As Alex contemplates that, he makes a big sack out of clothes and he puts all of his loot and some books about different things in it.

Finally, he decides to go to the meeting room, which is at the end of the now dimly lit hallway. He walked for a couple of minutes as he walked the empty hallway, Alex is on guard at all of this, he has two spells pre-prepared already in case things go awry. But even though that is unlikely, and even Alex knows that it doesn't hurt to be prepared.

Finally, Alex arrives at the end of the hallway, there is a giant door with a red lion carved on it. Immediately surges through his memories from his first life and due to his high intelligence he can remember the password the Blood Cult Usually uses.

"We shall drown this world in a Bloody Purgatory." Says Alex calmly and clearly, his face displaying nothing as he talked towards the door.

Suddenly the door slowly opens, and Alex walks inside. The meeting room, unlike the rest of the base, it is extremely well lit, there are magic lamps all around.

Due to this world having mana and other special energy. The development path of this world is different, instead of electric light, there is magic light and many other things like this. It displays that even though this world might seem medieval with swords and such, it is also evolution… because swords in the right hands have as much battle power as a tank.

Alex looks at the rectangular table with six chairs, which is in front of the room, with one of the chairs standing higher and most others which represents that this one is the branch leader's chair.

Alex goes close to the leader's chair, he immediately started looking for a secret compartment on it. Though he did so with caution, after all, he isn't someone who lets his guard down. Even though Alex knows how to do this since he read it in one of the forums. That doesn't mean that he knows 100% everything about it.

*click!*

Suddenly as soon as the clicking sound was heard. A compartment opens at the back of the seat dropping down something which had a metallic cling to it when it hit the ground.

Alex looks at the item that dropped from the secret compartment. It is a curved dagger with strange runic designs all over its handle. Alex decides to crouch down and pick it up, as soon as he does so a notification appears in front of him.

[NEW QUEST AVAILABLE]

Alex looks at it in excitement so he clicked the notification.

Alex just looks at the quest, he knows that with his current strength he can't even talk about the Shadow Land, or his head might slip off his shoulders. That place is ruled by a monster who has spies everywhere, so Alex thinks better to try and stay under the radar since he isn't under anyone's protection yet.

'Hmmm… next I should find a hero now.' Thinks Alex with a contemplating look on his face.
