When he used some of the Exp that he has gathered over the years, it immediately pushed him to the peak of a Rank 1 Mage. Usually this would take the average mage around six months to reach. After all, not only did they need to do research on different magics. Rank 1 is the place where people chose the road that they will take with the next class. Like will they be a Fire Mage, Water Mage, or even a Necromancer. It is in a way a road that he will have to walk for the rest of his life.
Since most people don't have the Gamer Interface, so they can't see their class, but they will know what element their class has, with the help of magical items like elemental crystals which detect which element you are most inclined to, or other items of such nature which can help someone know which path they should concentrate on most.
Though the Mage Class is very versatile, and even if someone chose the Fire Mage class, it doesn't mean that they can't use Earth Spells. But it's more effective to learn, plus a fire Mage will never be able to use Water Spells so there is that too.
While others would be stuck on this, Alex is not. Because he has the Game Interface so he can decide his affinity. Plus he already was a mage in the game, when he used to play it, so he knows most about the Class. Though, since he used to be an Ice Mage he knows that there are classes better than that. So he will choose another Main Class that he is familiar with, and Alex knows that this Class is way better than any of the elemental classes.
After contemplating for a little, Alex grabs the mana meditation book. As soon as he opens the book a screen appears in front of him.
[Do you want to spend 1 potential point to learn Mana Meditation Rank 1]
Y/N
He accepts, and immediately something new appears in his Skill section.
[Mana Meditation (Rank 1) Lvl 0/10]
'Heh even the Mage Hero took 1 month to advance to the peak of rank 1. But I already am there without even trying. Even though in the game NPC were usually stronger than a player of the same stage. But only some rare creatures can compare to the player's growth speed.' Thinks Alex with a smile on his face. As long as he had EXP he would be able to surpass most bottlenecks that the average person would have. That is the speciality of the gamer interface.
He then opened the book and skipped the part about meditation. He immediately went to the part about spells, which even though it had around a hundred pages, it was mostly explaining just two basic spells.
....
After reading the spell descriptions Alex thinks back to how they used to be in the game. 'They were pretty much the same.'
Then he concentrated a little and thought. 'Spell List.'
Alex opened it and saw that both Fire Ball and Water Ball were in there.
He smiled at this, he opened his palm facing upwards and he tried using a spell.
"Fire Ball"
A small fire ball appears on his hand.
[NEW CLASS AVAILABLE]
Alex clicked on it. Even though he was pretty sure he knew what it was.
[High Rank Class Available: Fire Mage]
He simply dismissed the notification and got up from the bed and then cleaned up his table.
'Though Fire Mage is a good main class, it's not as good as the one I have in mind.' Thinks Alex as he put his bag on the ground and took a knife out of it. He cut his finger a little. Just enough to draw blood. But he couldn't help but wince a little at the pain.
This is another thing different from the game. When he used to play the virtual game, there were no pain receptors. So the players never felt anything like pain.
Though it was only a slash on the finger, Alex has never done something like this in his first life.
'Damn, those other MC's when they were reborn, they always have a godly amount of pain endurance.' Contemplates Alex, as he draws a blood circle on the table. It was a simple star pattern, surrounded by a circle.
'If my memory serves me correctly.' He lets some blood pool over in the middle of the circle.
"Blood Crystal"
The circle flashes a little and the blood in the middle of the circle. Becomes a glass like substance...
'It's a success.'
Alex then grabs the crystal… and immediately a new notification appears in front of him...
[NEW CLASS AVAILABLE]
Alex immediately put all of his stat points into intelligence. Together with his exceptionally smart quirk. His Intelligence is 12. Though unlike other games intelligence doesn't raise Mana, that is done by meditation. Though it definitely is the main stat of a mage. It does help in learning spells and different rituals, that require a certain mental strength to handle the spell's mental stress.
After all if mages don't have high intelligence you won't be able to use high level spells. For example if Alex didn't have at least 3 intelligence, which is about as much as the average person, he wouldn't have been able to make a blood crystal.
Alex immediately started coming up with new ideas. 'Also if my intelligence is over twenty, I should be able to design a blood ritual with sacrifice to sum-...'
Suddenly Alex's eyes widened... he noticed something... he never even thought of that plan... to use a blood sacrifice to use a Legendary Level spell even while being low leveled...
'Is this the effect of Intelligence... as a player even though I raised intelligence I never became smarter... this is... an unexpected turn of events... even though good… I don't like surprises at all...' Thought Alex analysing the situation.
He looked at his hands and saw that they are currently… shaking in anger... anger at himself for not thinking of this possibility... has he gotten so sloppy lately he is no longer in control…
Then Alex's eyes become colder as if the light was all sucked out of them… 'I NEED TO BE IN CONTROL.'
This is Alex's biggest flaw… when he hasn't planned for something… even if something nice happens to him… if it wasn't planned and the thing caught him by surprise… then he ABSOLUTELY hates that.
'I NeED To BE in COnTROL' thinks Alex as his face on the outside seems calm but if someone were to be here they would feel the slight cold aura that he was releasing... even their instincts would tell them to run away…
….
After a couple minutes, the whole charade is over. Alex calmed down and is able to think clearly. 'I also need to be calmer now.'
Alex gets up from the chair and goes and lies down on his bed to relax and think on his actions.

'I see so I did get that perk. I didn't put any intelligence in my stats before because the Perk that you get when you pass a certain stat bottleneck is random. Though this one is pretty good...' Thinks Alex… this perk would definitely be even better, especially when some spells might take decades to learn during the later versions.
And even though Alex won't admit it... he is still excited to learn magic again. After all this is real life… you can smell the grass and flowers… food does have a taste…. just like the real world… he wanted to try and see how it really felt to use a spell.
…
After some minutes he gets up again and looks at the new class that he got.
[High Rank Class: Blood Mage]
[DO YOU WANT TO SELECT THIS CLASS]
Y/N
Even though this is considered an 'Evil' Class no one needs to know that he has it. After all Alex can still learn other spells from other elements except nature class... but Nature Magic is mostly made of the Elfs secret spells so that would be a pain to get them anyway.
This is also why the Mage Class is considered one of the best, because of its adaptability and diversity… the ability to learn spells from different elements...
Alex clicked [Yes] and the class changed again. If other mages saw him advancing like this they would cry tears of blood.
[CLASS CHANGED]
He looks at his status and the only difference is the new perk in there.
Blood Mage
[+100% to learning Blood Magic.
+200% to Blood Spell Power
-100% to learning Nature Magic]
And a new skill.
Blood Sacrifice Lvl 0/10
[Restores 1 MP for every 100 ml of blood sacrificed]
This is what makes this the strongest mage class in the beginning. After all regenerating mana costs time. And this is definitely good. Though Alex knows that if he had Dragon Blood in his veins, he would be able to use Dragon Magic and become a Dragon Mage which is the one of the best Mage Classes. But unfortunately, he didn't have the luck to be reborn as a Dragon Descendant.
He then uses all of his Exp on Mana Meditation. He gets it up to level 7, so now his max MP 16… though it will still take some time to regenerate.
He is now an official Rank 1 Mage by the standard of this world 15 MP and a level from 1-5 of a mage class equates, Rank 1. Obviously he must know spells of his corresponding rank to classify as such.
He still has 235 Exp so he uses them on Blood Sacrifice that brings it up to level 5.
Blood Sacrifice Lvl 5/10
[Restores +1 MP for every 50 ml of blood sacrificed]
After that, Alex gets off his bed, opens his backpack, pulls out a dark cloak from it and holds the cloak in his arm folded. He gets out of his room and walks around the mansion, he sees some other kids around his age but he doesn't say anything to them and they ignore him. Finally after walking down some stairs and finding the outside, he goes towards the front gate, when he arrives there he sees the two knights standing guard.
This is the standard of strength for the people in this world who can't see levels or class selections like that.
He sees the guards are in full armor, he guesses that they are around Rank 2 in power. Truly only the Magic Academy can squander Rank 2 Knights like this, just standing guard and protecting some brats.
As Alex attempts to walk past the gate.
The guards stop him from doing that, as one of them puts a hand on his shoulder with a strong unmoving grip.
"Where are you going kid?" Askes one of the guards in a soft voice, trying not to startle Alex, due to them thinking that Alex is an average six year old. Since he is only six and away from his family, they thought that he might be homesick.
Alex just smiles at them. He has already analysed the situation and guessed what they were thinking. So he uses his newfound intelligence to come up with the best possible response.
"I just wanted to explore the surroundings,
I have never visited Gungai City. So I was curious. " Says Alex with an excited voice.
When his face changes into an unsure one as he next asked. "Is it not allowed to go outside."
Then the guards look at him and then they look at the sun. It is around midday, so the child going outside wouldn't be too bad… plus they think that letting a child wonder around the city would be good for his growth. After all, Magic City is known as a very dangerous place, if he can't handle something like this, he definitely wouldn't be able to handle Magic City.
One of the knights just sighs at this and finally decides to simply say. "Sure just be here before sundown or you will be in a lot of trouble. Also you can only visit the market that is close to the mansion."
Then the other guard takes something from his pocket and throws it towards Alex.
"Here catch."
Alex catches the object and when he looks at it he notices that it was a blue, circular shaped badge with a big silver M on it.
"This is a Magic Academy badge... if anyone got a problem with you just show them that." Says the guard, showing him that he should use that badge if he gets into any trouble.
Alex knows that already, but he still acts thankful, like he didn't know what this badge really was. He puts the badge on his pocket and smiles brightly at the guards. "Thank you and see you later mister."
After that, Alex starts running towards the market while still waving towards the guards.
As soon as he is sure that they can't see him his fake smile slowly fades away from his face. Dropping his act, as he just looks at the roads. Mentally marking all of the things he needs to do during this one month before he goes to Magic Academy.
He knows that he especially needs his life class soon. After all, the right life class could close the level gap between two combatants of different levels. It's like a whole new arsenal becomes available. Of course most of the people have common classes like Farmer or Merchant, even the other Uncommon life classes Noble, King and the Legendary Life Class Emperor also exist. Then there are the classes which are mostly suitable and help fighters like Alchemist, Potion Maker and many more.
Of course just like with the main class, a person can have only one Life Class. Though it is never said that someone who has access to mana can't brew a basic flu potion. But it usually never works since they don't have the 'familiarity' that comes with having a class. At least that is what Alex and the other players observed in the game.
…
Finally Alex changes directions as he goes from a populated area, to a non populated area, where there are no people on the roads except some beggars, and some shopkeepers who were inside their sketchy shops, looking outside. This was the slums of Gungai City, famous or more correctly infamous over their huge black market trades and illegal human and demi human trafficking.
Demi human trafficking, like elfs, goblins or centaurs, while illegal, people can pay a fine for it and are able to stay away from a prison cell. Human trafficking… that is whole other deal, you are getting the chopping block for that one. After all, in the Human Continent, while races like Elves or even Mermaids aren't discriminated against, killing one of them in the city isn't punishable by death, only by paying a fine.
When some of the… less morally obliged people see Alex, they immediately have evil ideas, like selling him in the black market.
They were sure that mages would pay a lot for kids whose Mana or KI networks are just developing. After all, human experimentation is one of the fastest ways a Mage can advance his research. Though it is 'illegal' most Mages have done human experimentation at least a couple of times. But as soon as people started planning on how to kidnap Alex. They saw the badge that he has in his hand… and they immediately backed off, and let their dreams of gold be just that… dreams.
No one messes with the Magic Academy, that is an absolute unwritten law. After all, a royal family was exterminated from simply ridiculing the Magic Academy. That is a good deterrent to people looking for trouble.
Alex of course noticed this, but he paid no attention to them. After all even if they came for him, they are all mostly low leveled thieves or killers. They only need a fireball in their faces to remind them to not be so greedy and bite more than they can chew. He knew the type of scum that lived on here, in the game he had a lot of deals with this city's black market. He actually was in charge of it, for a period of time.
...
Then Alex suddenly turns at another sketchy alley with a dead end. He goes deep and sees a dirty beggar just sleeping one the ground at the side of the alley.
When he sees the real shaking of the beggar and his dirty clothing... he can't help but think even though back in the game it wasn't real life so you couldn't taste food and couldn't really feel pain or smell the air… but the NPC… they were top tier… so real were their personalities that some players
didn't even want to see the real world.
....
*flashback*
While back in another time at another place, where Alex wasn't his name anymore, and he was just another colleague student, having fun with his friends.
There is a man in mage robes he has brown eyes and black hair and a normal face you would find anywhere. This is Alex's Game Character during his first life. He is currently playing the game that has now become real… or maybe it was always real...
"Hey Andy look here."
Alex, whose name used to be Andy, he looks back and sees a guy in full knight armor with a goblin head in his hand. The goblin's head had a lot of detail for a game, the goblin's eyes were opened wide in fear and he had drool leaking out of its mouth. Even the blood leaking from his neck and the wind pipes and the bloody spine. They were all realistic, even though there was no smell of blood, the severed head was truly gross and terrifying for the average human to look at. But Andy (Alex) was able to hold his lunch in his stomach.
But then suddenly, the armored guy throws the goblin head towards Andy.
"WOOOAHH." Andy jumps back in grossed out by the details of the game.
"Ahahahahaha." His friend just looks at him while laughing. Andy just frowns and looks at Oliver, his friend.
"I heard this game was realistic but c'mon man aren't there supposed to be some kind of restrictions... I mean even in other Virtual Games the body is supposed to disappear after a mob is killed." asks Andy... even though he was surprised at the start... he is calm now… after all it was still just a super realistic game… and he shouldn't throw up here or he will throw up in the real world… he would have to clean his capsule if he does that.
Oliver looks at another dead goblin's body and cuts it's ear while saying. "Well no they won't disappear. It is said that this is a very realistic game for a reason ok. Until recently only rich folk could afford this game. Though the goblin bodies will be gone the next day."
Andy (Alex) just raised a questioning eyebrow at this.
Oliver understands what he means and gets a perverse smile on his face. "Once I saw her... she was so hot... I went to talk to her but... she killed my character..."
Then he gets a little depressed. "...And I had to start a whole new game. Damn that sexy Druid."
Andy just looks at Oliver. He just smirks a little. 'Oh so I can do anything then… how about we see how really real these NPC are.'
....
After some time spent goblin hunting and Andy (Alex) trying to power level, leaching off of his friend who was higher level than him.
They had decided to return to the city after some hours of level grinding, to deliver the goblin ears to the adventure guild and buy some better equipment.
As they were walking towards the adventure Guild. Andy frowns in annoyance as he looks at his MP (Mana Point) bar.
Oliver notices this and laughs."So you have a mana problem..."
Andy's frown gets even deeper as he looks at Oliver and asks him. "Is it always going to take forever to charge mana?"
Oliver laughs a little at this and then he takes off his helmet. His game character looked quite handsome contrary to Andy's average looking one, Oliver's game character has short green hair and blue eyes. He got a randomly high charm stat on his character creation. That is like one in a hundred chances of a player getting this charm boost...
Oliver finally decided to answer as he says with a smirk "Yes. I also used to be a mage in my first play through. A fire mage actually. I mean we are in an RPG world. What other class did you think I was going to choose during my first gameplay. But because of the slow mana regeneration rate it isn't that good... also I heard that in Wayne kingdom there are Sects like in those Cultivation Wuxia novels where you can learn cool KI techniques."
When Andy hears this his eyes widen and he looks at Oliver. He looks at this extremely annoyed and he says in an annoyed voice. "Wait what KI techniques... that sounds cool... why didn't you say that before."
"I forgot." Says Oliver, joking around… Andy can't help but sigh at this.
...
After some time they still keep jokingly arguing about stuff like that. They play some more and then Oliver logs off.
After he does that Andy just told Oliver that he was going to log off after him... but then... he turns around and he also goes outside of the city and goes towards a village nearby that sells very good food to tame frogs. It has a population of around 50-60 people.
Andy goes inside the village...
'Since this is a game... if it really is so realistic.... I wonder....'
Andy sees a mother with her young daughter walking towards the fields. A farmer working his field, a father was teaching his son how to shoot with a bow. The village looked truly realistic...
'Okay this is just a game so that means that they are not real people. Just data that is made to look like a human.'
He walks in the middle of the village, some NPC look at him weirdly, but in the end they decide to simply ignore him… Andy twirls his staff, and a huge magic circle appears below his feet, when he sees his MP bar go back to almost zero, he just bangs the staff on the ground, activating his spell...
"Ice Age"
*Booom!*
Immediately ice spreads all around him, freezing everything in its wake, from chicken to pigs… to human NPC… then the daughter and mother pair are frozen, so is the farmer, and the father and son are also all frozen… sofiating as they ran out of breath, and they died as even their lungs had frozen..
The whole village is frozen... as they are all low level NPC they are also frozen. They all die from this. Only people with a higher than level 4 are able to get out of this AOE Spell...
Contrary to the terrified looks of the NPC... Andy's face has a malicious expression.
'THIS WORLD IS AMAZING'
*flashback end*
....
AUTHOR NOTE;
This is 4.1k words, hope that you like it... like the MC did the game.🤣
As we see, the main character was quite... something even before he came to this world. But he doesn't see this world as a game now, so his actions are all going to be planned up to the last miniscule detail. Schemes will be a big part of this story, especially in the later chapters when characters with high intelligence and wisdom stats appear. The scheemes will be from both the MC and other characters. Also hope that you like this world building that I am doing, later in the story there won't be much of it, and neither will there be any flashbacks.
Anyway, hope you liked it.
