It was horrible to watch your mate look at you with hurt in her eyes, without the usual anger or appreciation before she fell onto the floor unconscious and know it was you who did that for the next half an hour.
I was trying to make myself remember and my wolf believe she wasn't dead, that I didn't kill her, and that it was for her own good. But I couldn't believe it until I saw her walking again with a smile on her face.
Not only was she my mate, it brought back unwanted memories…
The woman was shaking quivering in the chair silently crying and then she begs and my father backhands her, I wince.
That was my first mistake. He looks at me and grabs my throat pushing a knife against my gut pressing only hard enough to get beads of blood. I blank my face and ask "Sir, what do you want me to do, sir?" He smiles and points to the women then to a table I didn't notice at first. The table has a knife and a gun on it, and I stiffen. He wants me to kill the women.
I look back to him and I know my punishment if I don't. I grab the gun and point it at her chest.
Forgive me, mother.
Then I pull the trigger and the women closes her eyes, resigned to her fate. Even after I kill her and her body droops and blood pools on the floor I know I made the wrong choice with the gun when I look at my father…
I'm no good for her, I murdered an innocent. I can't be around her, but it would kill me to walk away. At first, I had to push my wolf back to keep everyone from knowing but then he was gone mourning and howling to her in a corner of my mind not believing my words either. 'Mate, are you awake yet.' I called out and like the last hundred times it didn't work.
She's still sleeping, I try and convince myself. After a bit of walking around aimlessly I hear her awake and angry 'You insufferable bastard. What did you do to me?'
'You're awake! Are you okay, how are you feeling? I'm so sorry, I plan to stick to what I said, 'do you need anything right now?'
'You fucking knocked me out with some shit not even my magical side could fight, and you expect me to take anything thing from you? Do you even hear yourself?'
'I really am sorry; do you need anything. I will even test it out for you if you want. Can I see you?'
'No.'
Then she's gone but her mind brushing with mine eased my wolf and me and seeing her angry at me brought me peace to see her herself. Though it was odd she wouldn't let me see her which even if she was hurt, scared, pissed off, or anything at me she would still want to see me whether to exact her punishment on me or as her mate. But she doesn't trust me right know and going against her word isn't the best idea, so I wander until my wrist buzzes.
John wants me for an important meeting about prisoners. So, I jog over through the entrance, through the maze of tunnels and make my way to his office. Once I reach his office, I take a deep breath and put on my guard mask-emotionless and blank. I walk in just as he ushers off his latest whore who is most likely way younger than me.
I sit down and manage to keep the disgust off my face, but I know it's how he deals with mom being dead, that and being as high as a fucking kite. He sits in front of me with a look of excitement on his face. Definitely high.
He grins at me, "Guess what my last conquest just thought of, she's a genius in and out of bed. I'd love to get more ideas out of her however she says she only sleeps with someone once, so I want you to fuck her and get more ideas out of her, got that."
"John, what is your genius idea." I reply neither agreeing but no disagreeing to fucking his latest bitch, like I would, even if it wasn't for Alcmene being my mate.
"Yes, the idea. Okay, her idea was to breed the prisoners to create more powerful kids. First, we will find more prisoners and inject them with hormone inducers and wait a month for them to fuck each other and if the bitches aren't pregnant by then we breed the prisoners with some guards. What do ya think, soldier?" He finishes with a smile and looks at me expectantly.
Internally I'm screaming, thinking about strangling him in his chair before eating him to suggest that Alcmene be bred with someone like a brooding mare and especially not ever carry anyone else's child but mine.
But I know I can't do any of that or at least not now so I force myself to stay bored and blank and tell him, "As good of idea as that is there are kids so what are you planning with them and what if they can't breed, they are the unknown what if they can breed but only with their own kind and how do we know these hormones will work." I almost start gagging at the thought of Alcmene being drugged and breeding with some other asshole. And the kids breeding kids or making them watch their sister, that's gross and sick.
"The kids would grow up somewhere else don't worry I'm not that evil. And we are testing on the new kid and silver mutt." He answers not breaking the maniacal grin. So, I just nod and leave.
That's when I break, my vision going red but keeping control of most of my body though my fangs are out and I am now practically sprinting to save my mate. Unfortunately, it's a maze.
Seriously, when did there become so many goddamn tunnels?
I almost say fuck it and shift but I know that will bring even more attention to me and make it harder to get out. I run faster and turn a couple more times almost positive they keep changing but then I hear her voice around the corner.
Once I make it, I almost sigh with relief that she's alive. Then I see what everyone was doing or rather talking to. A new guy and it reminds me of my father's words. I snarl most likely startling them and Alcmene turns. But before she can say anything I run in, stuck frenzy knocking out the guards and walking in finding Alcmene and grabbing her and running.
Alcmene Argent
Eli comes into the cave in a frenzy looking like he was barely in control of his wolf, sniffing around the room and glaring at Jackson before grabbing me and running outside.
The first thing I see is the stars, the moon hidden my clouds as I stare out at the sky as Eli runs with me in his arms before he stops but doesn't set me down. Then he sniffs the air and prowls until he finds a small cave only slightly larger than both of us, then he leads me in and lays down before delicately he lays me down on top of him. Then he lets his wolf out a little sniffing me and letting his hands roam.
He finally gives me a content chuff which sounds weird coming from his human mouth before burying his face in my hair nuzzling my neck nonsensically murmuring only a few words I can make out sounding like 'my mate' or 'mine' or just simply 'I love you' so I pet him running my fingers through his hair and eventually the wolf fades however he doesn't move or stop nuzzling me. I let myself enjoy it before getting serious and sitting up.
He whines at my loss then groans as I rub against his dick sitting up.
"What is going on? I told you not to come for a visit and now my friends and siblings are worried, not to mention the new guy, Jackson. You probably freaked him out and my friends probably think I'm dead." I ask as firmly as I can. Hearing him growl at the mention of Jackson gave me some idea of what he might say.
He sighs deeply seeming to try and calm himself and his wolf.
"Sorry, but I lost it. I was going to respect your wishes, so I went for a run. While I was out running, I got a message from John for a one-on-one meeting and so I went and he told me his latest whore, sorry 'conquest', gave him an idea to breed the prisoners for stronger hybrid kids.
First, he's going to collect a bunch of prisoners and inject hormones into them and give them a month to get pregnant if that doesn't work, more hormones fertility pills and you will breed with a guard. He's testing it out with you and the new boy, your 'Jackson'." His face scrunches up as he mocks that name like a dramatic teenager showing me exactly what his opinions are of the boy. Before continuing, "sorry. So, I left and lost it with the imagining you fucking and getting pregnant with another, so I ran to find you. I'm sorry." He looks at me earnestly. I worry my bottom lip processing the new information.
Then I look at Eli and kiss him surprising him but quickly he recovers pulling me closer. "Don't worry he is built like a twig I could easily kick his ass. Also, nothing they drug me with would work and according to my beast I have a magical contraceptive in place."
We then cuddle, him reassured for a bit before he speaks again.
"Okay so do you remember that thing in your neck? I have to get it out or they can force you to go back." He tells me when he pulls away and looks at me for my permission. I nod.
He presses something on my neck and a second later it falls out into his hands and I recognize the smell of his blood.
He looks at me and must realize how the blood is affecting me as he tries to give me his thumb which has a bit of blood dribbling out, but quickly I stop him and look him in the eye and ask him, "While we are on the subject, wanna break out my friends and my family then I'll forgive you for knocking me out and disrespecting my wishes, yes that means Jackson too."
He looks like he's about to protest at the Jackson part so I kiss him to shut him up, harder than the first and grind against him for good measure and it work, "Anything." He replies looking up at me in wonder.
