"You like Genesis?"
"No!" I immediately refused. I drank water and if only his face wasn't serious I would have laughed.
"Who did you hear that from?"
He did not say a word.
Then realization dawned on me. During their last football game, people overheard Janice and I talking. I remembered she mentioned about me liking Steve Genesis. Did it spread?
"Look, I don't know who spread that rumor. But that's not true."
He nodded slowly, still serious.
"Eat up," he ordered.
He drove me home afterwards. I was secretly thankful that Mommy was gone when I got home. Ate Delia immediately ran towards me, saying she was so worried the whole night. I just smiled at him bitterly before going to the room. Fortunately other people are still worried about me. What about Mommy? Did she even think where I slept last night? Or was he just a man?
"Are you okay, Drey?" Janice asked.
"Yeah ..." I drawled and grabbed my things.
