"What about your men? What if Pápa finds out that you helped me?"
Desmond smiled sadly.
"The consequence won't surely be good. But I'm sure I won't be executed."
He stroked my hair.
"Don't feel bad, Eli. My men are good. They won't just be late. Find your Uncle Edward as you've planned."
Uncle Edward is my mother's only brother. Ezera's Dad was a close friend, and we had once been my cousin's teacher. He was a council in Aíresi a few years ago, not until he married into the Yizhun Sect in Taiwan. So I am here now to look for him because I know he is the only one who can help me.
I looked at the piece of paper which marked the place I was going to.
Recalling Desmond's instructions, I went to the bus terminal first. I don't have a hard time talking to people because I know how to speak Mandarin. Now, I understand the importance of my linguistic lessons then. I hated it before, but now I realized it is indeed useful.
"Can I sit here?"
