"I'm ready!" I spat but it sounded more like convincing myself than convincing him.
He smirked. I blinked.
"Besides, Daddy has other properties. I have my trust fund. I will be supported until college. And yes, I will work on a company. What's wrong in starting from the lowest position? At least I'm earning!"
"Then good luck with your plan, heiress."
"Not anymore," I said.
"You know what, let's just go to Zach first. I'll bring him some fruit too."
The Salamedas were gone when we arrived at Zach's room. He was on the verge of sleeping but was dilated when we entered. I sat on the side while Kirk just stood at the foot of the bed.
"Hi, big boy ..." I whispered and kissed his forehead.
"Hi, Tita ... Lola said Mommy is sleeping. She was sleeping yesterday, too. Why did she sleep so long?"
My heart pounded at the child's question.
