"At this point," Landon spoke. "Eve's safety is the most important. I'm willing to join forces with the two of you. I can't risk her life for my pride. I will use all my cards to keep her."
"Landon!" I called in contempt. He just looked at me with defiance in his eyes.
"We have to accept it. We can't do it alone. I would rather sacrifice my pride than put you in that kind of danger. I promised you, didn't I? I will protect you no matter what."
"And I will do the same, Eve. The pack is willing to help," Jaxon said and I could almost feel my temple pounding.
"My family will fight," Carter added, one of the things I fear the most.
"Do you even hear yourself, Jax? Carter? They are your family for Pete's sake! And what? You are willing to risk their lives just for me? That's unfair, you know! I don't want to put their lives in that kind of danger just so I could live. I can't be that selfish!"
