"Eve!" Mom jumped to me for a hug. Glad that I'm not breathing because if she is this close and I smelled the scent of her blood, I doubt if I would stay sane for long. But if ever I slip and forget about stopping my breathing, I'm confident enough that Landon can do something so I couldn't harm Mom.
"Missed me that much?" I grinned. I hope she won't notice how my teeth look sharper than they were.
"You fool, of course I missed you so much! And wait, you look a lot better than I remember! What did you do there in Arizona and why didn't you tell me you're coming—oh! You have a company!" Mom looked more surprised when she realized that I'm with someone. I guess she was too shocked to see me earlier that she didn't mind anything else, even if it was a drop dead gorgeous man more than six feet tall and had a sleek luxurious car behind him.
"Yes, Mom. He is Landon."
